Looking at getting my first electric heli. Want something I can fly indoors when I can not get the gasser outside. Just want something to fly and keep the rust away and mess with the cats Do not need to 3D. Am looking at the Hummingbird CP, Trex and showgun. What would make a good E heli for me?

Thanks,

Charles

how about a FP heli for indoors? quieter, cheaper, less dangerious and a lot less complicated With lots of mods it can be a very capable heli for outside too.

Hi Cap,

If you just want something to fly around indoors then I would recommend, IMHO, one of the fixed pitch helis (Hummingbird V3 or Elite FP) as these have a moderate speed rotor and will inflict little damage to anything they contact. The Hummingbird CP, T rex, Shogun, Hornet 2, etc have high speed higher energy rotor sytems that could (would) cause damage and are by their nature a lot more delicate.

Yep,have to agree with the other posts, go a FP heli for indoors. You can set it up with lipos and a brushless motor, and with some mods it will hover and fly upright as well as the CP version. And do much less damage when it hits something. And it probably will! 8-)

I fly my Trex inside, however very intimidating. My HB is less intimidating but required many udgrades to get it to fly right. Go seperates. HB parts are brittle and expensive. They are very unforgiving. My rudder hit my pants leg and shatteres when I was setting up my gyro.

HB --- Thicker parts. In some case. Rotor and rudder seem thicker and more brittler?
