I am new to electric choppers and I am setting up my T-Rex with a Mega 16/15/4 and a CC Phoenix-35 and eventually my HB 3D Pro with the lightning motor/esc kit. How do I determine the timing advance and switching rate that is best for these motors? Is there a standard formula out there for this? Is there risk of damaging the motor or is it more of an experimental approach?

I am using high timing mode. Others have used standard timing also.

I did not change the switching rate from the original settings.

Switching from high timing will give more power at the expense of more amp draw and higher temps.
