I have 2 Vigors and the "pukker" factor stops me from flying them much. I have a 90 Freya which is a dream to fly since there's no pukker factor, and an EVO still in its box but I expect to fly this alot too, when I eventually find time to build it

The morale of the story - expensive helis are great to fly but I personally get more pure "fun" from cheaper Hirobos which fly great and you know it won't cost an arm, leg and several other body parts to fix it.

Ka-man - really sorry to hear of your mishap. My first was in a similar situation, top of my first loop when the heli stopped, then I froze and it crashed to the ground. Most of the heli survived but the engine let go. That was with a Baron 30 so only a $300 repair bill...

Sorry about your loss, Ka man. Actually practising F3C with a plastic freya is a good idea (mine is badly worn due to that) even though I fly my blacksharks occasionally.

To get the plastic freya fly right, you could refer to the Hirobo 2003 catalog.

Cheers,

Chris

A simple Freya can do the job really well already
E3 is good to own and fly but not good for frequent practice as long as u have umlimited time for doing maintenance to keep it alright

a successful F3C pilot relies on his fingers mainly. good machine makes the flying more colorful

good luck

Personally I would not use an EVO as a practice machine instead of an Eagle, I would use a standard Freya with same engine, blades, radio gear etc so its as near as possible to your F3C machine, but the kit contents alone are considerably cheaper in the event of a mishap.

I know the EVO is like a smaller, cheaper Freya but the Freya is nearer to an Eagle than an EVO and not much more expensive than an EVO.

Going the Freya route, you also gain in having more parts that are interchangable.
