Hi, anyone have this configuration and cant tell me at witch percentage of throttle curve reach the 2400 rpm?

I would like to migrate from fixed Throttle Type to Governor High but I don’t know witch throttle curve should I set in relation of head rpm.

Thanks
Brigus

As far as I know, neither the high or low Gov mode on the CC PH-35 works with the Align or most other out-runner motors.

I tried it on my 400SF the other day and could not get enough head speed to even get the Heli off the ground, not in High or Low gov mode and at 100% Throttle curve.
.

Cheers, Hayden.

Gov Mode
My gov mode works great on my CC25 with the Align 400 2800kv and runs great. My Throttle settings are on Norm 0 95 95 95 95 and idle up1 100 100 100 100 100 . with -10+10 pitch. Im am very happy with my performance compares to my Rappy 50 in some respects . Try it and you will see

Yeh well I have never really liked the Gov mode on the smaller CC ESC like PH-10, 25 & 35. As I have found they never really seem to work very well. So I have been using fixed throttle mode only. But I have heard a lot of people using gov mode and saying how great it was and use it in that mode only and usually when I have tried it in the past on other CC ESC the Head speed was much higher than it was in fixed. But it just didn't keep a good constand speed as one would expect. So I thought I would give it a go in Gov mode with the PH-35 in the rex as I heard it worked well, so I gave it a go just to see if it worked better than I had experience with them in the past. But found it didn't have enough head speed at all.

Cheers, Hayden.

I run a headspeed of 2500 with mine.

Here is the hardware
P35
Align 400SF 2800
TP 2100 3 cell
15 T pinion

Controller settings.

Cutoff Voltage 6
Current limiting disabled
Brake Disabled
High Gov mod
Timing Advance High
Soft cutoff
Soft Start
Default freq (option 1)

Rex is completely stock with 315 mm wood blades.

Transmitter throttle curves
Normal 0 90 100 100 100
Idle up 100 100 100 100 100

Hope this helps you,

I don't see why it works on yours, but not mine. It is basically the same setup as you. Except I use the 13T pinion, have the cutout voltage at 8.2v and the current limit set to insensative.

What radio do you use and what version firmware have you got programmed in the PH-35.

Cheers, Hayden.

Try increasing your throttle channel ATV to >100%. With my Mega 16/15/3, CC35 and JR8103 I had to put mine to 130% to get sufficient headspeed (2400 RPM) at 90% throttle.

Also, there's a big difference in headspeed between a 13T and 15T. Assuming 80% efficiency, headspeed with the 13T will be ~2200 RPM whereas the 15T will be ~2500 RPM.

OK 13T 2800SF here, I have throttle epa to +125% and throttle setting of 93.5% gets me 2180-2200

The big difference will be the pinion size, a 13t will give a lower headspeed at the same settings as then a 15t would.

But I mean, I'm getting hardly any headspeed (maybe 400-500rpm) at all in low gov, even at 100% and maybe about 800-1000rpm in High Gov. Like I said before, it won't even lift off the ground in low mode & barely just does it in high Gov mode.

Even if I had 125% EPA (max on the Hitec), 100% throttle curve & 15T pinion, it still wouldn't get no where near what it should be or what it does in fixed throttle mode (I get about 2300rpm).

Ahh got you.

I dont have the P link so I am not sure what software is on it but its whatever came with it.

You are running advanced timing right?

If so you might just have to stick with fixed throttle... I cant seem to get gov to work with my friends Mega either.

Yeh I use the PHX-Link, maybe I should have mentioned it before, I just asume most people have it.

Yeh I have it set to Advance timing.

Yeh I figure it must be to do with the firmware (software) version or the radio maybe, but I doubt it's the radio. I'm using 1.10R version firware.

MMarshall,

Obviously this setup works for you. I am running the same motor with a 13 tooth pinion and the timing set to normal. Do you have any information on amp draw, motor temperature or flight times using the setup you described. My concern is that with the larger pinion and high advance that I would be pushing the 400 SF to hard, especially now the summer will be here soon.

Thanks

They are my concerns also with going with a 15T pinion and loosing flight time.

Same
I am flying the same setup as Mike on one of mine. The only dif. is I have a CC45. I get the same rotor speed as Mike with his numbers.
