Had a good bank holiday weekend with my MP, 11 packs worth of fun in the sun.

I am totally happy with all aspects of the heli, but keep seeing the ref to the 10 tooth pinion on the standard 45-7 / Jazz set up.

What gains would I see in swapping from the 11 tooth?

Thanks

Hi Nick,

What sort of throttle % are you running with the 11tooth ?

The only reason I went for the 10tooth is because the 11tooth even down on say 70% the headspeed is too high, with the 10 on there i am running my throttle at 72% and nothing is hot after 12mins flying the motor and esc and just warm.

The only thing you gain is cooler temps on the esc as you can run a higher % with the 10pinion than the 11pinion but keep the same headspeed if that makes any sense

Hi Si

Running a low %, cant remember but under 70% in normal as the 2000 headspeed makes for stressful finger time (at least when your as twittchy as i am!).

Mine is mildly warm on 11 tooth, guess it will be cold on 10 tooth!

Have ordered the 10 tooth, and will try it out.

Mine never got hot on the 11 tooth and I think I was running the standard throttle % as per Jan's instructions. I think I settled on using the 62% setting in the manual. But always thought that running higher % was always better on the temps for the esc etc etc, anything above 80 -85%.

I'm still below that now and my headspeed is probably slighly less than the 11 tooth at 62% than the 10 tooth at 72% a 9 pinion would be the answer but don't make one, don't think it would fit ?
