So I can spend roughly $200 and I am not sure what to buy. I have two things in mind but can only afford one.

1. A used Hirobo XRB Lama...would prefer the untethered.

2. Futaba GY401 w/ servo for my Nexus 46

I was thinking of the XRB because I could fly it indoors but I'm afraid I will get gored of it. I also already have a gyro for my Nexus but its kind of crappy and since I am just learnign to fly I think a good gyro would help but then again I am told thatthe XRB woudl help me learn to hover better and do nose in also.

What would you get?

And if anyone has either for sale let me know.

Buy a sim if you get a G2 used you will still have enough
$ to get a case of fuel to practice with

.

My vote would go with gyro.

Go with gyro or the sim. The sim will help in the long run

for a nexo??? the gyro would be worth more than the heli! (no offense I learned on one) I would have to say a decent gyro, I learned on a peizo crapo gyro, the day I put a decent gyro on was the day my learning curve went through the roof!!! go for the gyro and some gas man....

Ask your Doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

Well so far the gyro is winning. The gyro I have right now is the Piezo.

I llearned on a Nexus
And, I'd keep flying what you have, put the money away, and when you have enough, but a better heli. Nexus was great for learning, but time to move on, you won't believe the difference. The piezo is good enough for the nexus.

Meanwhile, burn fuel in basics. By the way, you can flip and roll the nexus, but a better heli will really surprize you

Get a SIM...it's the best $200 I've spent in this hobby.

Just for the record I never said the nexo was a pos...as a matter of fact I bought another one to go back to grass roots persay, but they are good for what they are made for...a good stable learning heli...(not that you cant 3d it...I do in mine all the time...taking out all the z links and going with ball links really helps out alot! but my CF blades are worth more than the heli) but like the other gent said, a crappy heli will fly better with a good gyro...like I said, I flew it both ways, and man what a difference! and again like the other gent said and gyro can be uninstalled and put into the next one when the time comes (then you can put that peizo crapo gyro back in and still have fun!)

Ask your Doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

Why don't you consider off loading the Nexus on Ebay, buy a Raptor/Evo50 and the gyro/servo combo at the same time?

Well, I listened to everyones advice and I bought a GY401.

I am going to keep the Nexus because I haev a ton of parts for it and would like to learn to fly better before pickign up something else.

And as far as taking the money to Vegas...I am going next week because it is only a 4 hour drive for me
