I'm looking to get into electric helis after flying in Reflex XTR for some time with my Futaba 9CHP. The Logo 14 caught my eye in a magazine, but I couldn't work out how big it is. I'm used to the terms 30, 50, 60 and 90 (etc).

Is the Logo 10 a size 30 and the Logo 14 a size 50?

Where's the best (read: cheapest) place to buy these from (I'm UK based). I imported my transmitter, so I'm open to importing the heli.

Thanks.

Are you a total beginner or have some experience with helicopters?

If you are a total beginner, may be you want to start with Logo 10 rather than 14. Total starting cost would be less and Logo 10 is much more docile, perfect for a beginner. Logo 10 is slightly smaller than the 30 size heli's.

Logo 20 may also be a good beginner's heli, except the size may be a little intimidating to the beginners and cost is higher.

Logo 14 is more for "hot-doggers" who would want to be aggressive in their flying style --- after one or two years of experience. It is a very agile heli.

The Logo 10 uses 500-515 mm blades, so it's about a 30 size. The Logo 14 uses 550-570mm blades, which makes it just under a 50 size (600mm blades), but it can be stretched to a 50 size for a little extra money.

As for a place to buy it from, I like fxaeromodels.com, which is in the US. I am not familiar with with the UK sites, but shouldn't be too hard to find one.

I have a Logo 14. I am using the heavier paddles to make it more docile till I get better. There are also two settings in the head for responsiveness.

Thanks all...

I'm pretty much set on getting a Logo 10 now, based partly on the comments above (and the fact that Reflex XTR has a Logo 10 model).

Now to find the cheapest, but reputable, place to buy it from...
