hmm
When u take ur heli out of the hot house into -7C, ur boom shrinks, and the belt gets loose causing it to knock around.

I get like a "tinkle" noise in the hover and it is from around the boom somewhere, but I have never found what it is!

Theory about boom shrinking is great! I'll think about steel or (better)ceramic tail boom.
To darrens: And what have You done with this noise?

Problem solved.
My YS91 was too learn
By the way.
I have a big problem with engine starting. I use TT 180 High torque starter and 3 month old fully charged Acid 12v 7AH battery (like computer UPS). May be this battery cannot give enough current but my starter cannot turn engine shaft? As result this weekend I used battery of my Nissan. What battery do You use for starting?

I use a 12Ah 12V “cyclic” SLA battery with Robbe super starter. Engines can be difficult to start when they're cold, loosening the glow plug by 4 turns will help (tightening once started)

I use 2 8.4v 1500mah packs and a Dynatron for my YS 91 - works great.

Yesterday I've found new source of noise in my Xspec
When I quick move rudder stick and then stop tail rotation I hear loud crunch. I see that this moment carbon vertical fin vibrates and makes this sound. I hear this sound even when I do stall turns when heli is far from me.
ps I use GY601 and stock and Funkey tail blades.
