I found a deal on ebay for $50 on a futaba 8U TX only, but it is an airplane version. Is it worth it?

BTW, I bought my first and only 6XHS radio on ebay, works like new.

Is it a Super version or is it the standard? The Super version does CCPM. That's a big reason to get the super.

The 8Uafs or 8Uaps will due fine. Just that your idle up switches are in different places. Some people like the switch positioning better.

$50 is good also make darn sure it has the manual.

BTW, Ricks is selling the 8Uhps for $180, that's a bare bones TX too. So judge your deal accoringly

8UAFS here...
I fly the super 8 airplane version. I like the switch postions, but I have never flown the other way either.
I agree if it is a super that is a killer deal

I also fly a super 8 airplane version. It works great and switch positions have never been a problem. Sounds like a great price.. Buy it.

I am deciding between it and 9C!
I have no need for ccpm. my 6XHS can do it... i am curious, how much better is the 9CHP?

I'm too flying with 8u airplan
I'm regreting buying it only because it don't have ccpm...
many of the top heli kits today came with ccpm
so i'm advice you to pay some more $$ and get the super.

Mop - I too want to know if its worth it to get the 9C over the 8U.

ronlund - 8uhps - $180
module - $50
shipping - $10 (i guess)

$240

heli kraft- 9C w/ module $275
shipping $25 ( i know)

$300

Is the 9C worth the extra $60? I dont think so personally, and the 8U looks a ton better than the 9C

Thanks,
Max C.

9c-8usuper
The best part of the 9c over the 8u is not only the ease of programing but it has the graphed pitch curves which I thought made it easier to setup.

I like the 9C over the 8U. Hands down it's a ton easier to program. It has some nice features. The user interface makes it a very valuable feature.

9 channels as apposed to 8

3 idle up curves instead of 2.

3 Pmix's as apposed to 2

And many other minor things. You can get all the comparisions from Futabas web site too.

As for the CCPM, thing, I wasn't sure about the standard version and we have conflicting reports to that effect so Who knows.

Actually having a radio that has CCPM capability will allow you to upgrade without that being an issue and it allows for better resale later.
