I was wondering if anyone is flying a Raptor 30 or 50 with an upgraded all metal head. Does it really smooth out the heli at all or is it all just cosmetic?

I have a Raptor 50 with an all metal head. I had the normal blade tracking problem and did the grip flip to cure it and it worked great. Then a buddy of mine sent me an e-mail about a blade grip coming apart so I upgraded to an all metal head. I can't say that I noticed a change except in peace of mind but it sure looks good!

I was more concerned with performance than anything, but I like the look of the all metal head. I may get another Rap 50 next year and install an all metal head just for the look. It all depends on how much better I fly by then. Of course, there may be another machine that is already metal and cheaper than upgrading a R50.

Vance,

The grips, head block and mixing base is QWW. The head button is DL and the slipper is DBC. All came from Heliproz. I'm very happy with the setup, it flys very smooth.

Thank you.

The canopy is also from Heliproz. It looks a lot nicer than the stock one, but the quality is not that great for something that’s gel coated. Lot's of pin holes that need to be dealt with if you want a first class paint job. The gel coat is also pretty thin. I have absolutely no painting skills, so I have my eye on one from Canopy FX. For now I just painted the windscreen and added a couple of decals.

Here's a few more pics.
