Comeptitions
We are coming from Southern Cali to the Fun Fly...Can I ask why there isn't any type of competitions for the different classes? I am kind of new and cannot fly at night nor can I afford to buy all of the needed equipment...When we went to Vegas they had little pad hop, timed hover and auto competitions...They weren't any prizes except for little paper awards...Some of us would like to see some type of competitions besides night flying...We aren't complaining, as we appreciate any Fun Fly...What type of turn out do you guys expect?

RCdriver,

I can't speak for the event organizers, but after attending all the events and helping out as much as I can - any where from fixing toilets to skydiving demonstration jumps - I can say that the event is great..

I have gained so much from having help setting up my heli to learning new things about flying.. The flight line is very open and you can almost fly every time you are ready, with very little waiting..

We have had some impromptu competitions set up by individual pilots, usually auto-rotation for accuracy or longest hang time.. Just for fun..

Again, if there is something you want to learn or try, often someone can help you out and the open flight line (five stations) allows you to practice..

Hope to see a bunch of you there..

p.s. my parachute is blue/green/white/blue, if you are there for the lunch demo..

RC Driver,

We have a Hobby Town Franchise in Fresno (about 15 miles from the Site).. However, it does not stock many heli-related items..

However, we have seen some pretty neet show up at the event for sale... New and Used..
