Hi,
I'm looking at getting a good transmitter that I can use for a long time. I'm a beginner and hope that this transmitter can be with me from hovering all the way to 3D.
I have been looking around for transmitter and Futaba 9CHP and JR PCM 10X are on my radar screen.
Would I really need a 10 channel transmitter?
Is a 9 channel enough? I thought 8 channel is the maximum.
JR PCM 10X cost about USD$1300. FF9CHP is about USD$500.
Should I buy the FF9CHP and save the rest to get a good heli, servos and gyros?
Any advice?

If you have the money!

Go for the 10 x
easy to use and good quality
I have used JR for 14 years and PCM 10 since the first one came out on the marked
If you need some extra receivers use the 949!!!! that is absolutely the best on the marked Period

I asked the same question.
With the gv1 and the hh gyro why buy a 9 or 10 channel
radio. All tail rotor mixes are useless.
All throttle mixes are easy now with the gv1, you just
need a back up throttle curve if gv1 fails.
I sold my 9 channel I useing a 8 channel
We run a liner pitch curve now.
but this is my hobby not my life.
I fly "crash" for fun.
IMHO

With so many people switching to the Futaba 9z you can pick up an almost new 10x for 500-700. I use a GV-1 and 401 no problems. You can use Futaba servos or Jr servos. I just picked up a 10x in new condition at half price which was upgrading me from a 347 and 10s. I didn't really need to upgrade from the 10s but for the price I figured why not.
The Futaba 9CHP is great for the price as well if you don't already have receivers, try them out and buy the one you like the most.

How about considering the JR3810 (or 8103 depending whereabouts in the world you are) for comparison against the FF9, that will do everything you need it to and far cheaper than the 10X.

I used the 3810 for years up until I 'came into some money' earlier this year and 'upgraded' to the 10X - a big jump, but if you can afford it - you definately won't regret it .

worth it?
I'm offered a JR PCM 10 X package at USD$900. It comes with the transmitter, alum case, 4 DS8231 servos and a 10 ch JR reciever. Heliproz is selling at about$1300.
It is a good deal but I'm wondering if I will actually need a 10 ch transmitter.
I don't really understand how a 10 channel transmitter works. Any advice?
I have a JR388 8ch transmitter.

My friend has told me it's a good buy since a good transmitter can last you for a long time. I was thinking about the FF9CHP until the offer for the PCM 10X came by.

Worth every penny! IMO the PCM10X is the best radio available. I would have jumped on a chance to get that set for $900 but just purchased one from heliproz.

programming for JR PCM 10X
Hi,
I have read some where that the JR PCM 10X can interface with a computer to do programming?
Anyone has any experience with programming the JR PCM 10X with a computer?

How different is the JR PCM 10X compared to the previous JR 10SX?

I think I'm going to accept the USD$900 offer.... ;-)

DS8231
Hi,
I like to know if the servos that comes with the JR PCM 10X (DS8231) is suitable for tail servo?
I guess DS 8231 are digital servos and good for throttle, pitch, elevator and aileron control.
Any comments?

I bought the JR 10X (upgraded from a JR 10SX) about a year ago - and it was the BEST money I have spent on this hobby thus far.

I will say this - if you are only going to own (1) helicopter - then you might do better with a JR 10SX. The 10X offers digital trims - which is beneficial when switching between multiple models of helis.

Thanks,

Wild Turkey

Hello WT

By any chance, did you consider using the trim offset, which each model memory has. After you trim your heli, go to the the Trim Offset(82) hit page and then hit store. After you are done, put your trims back to center and you are done. Continue this process for each helicopter memory. All your trim setting will be saved and your trim will still be at center.
