I'm 38 and I flew as a kid in the 80's with my father. I'm just getting back into it again to spend more time with my father.

I would like to say that this hobby is by far the most diversified in age spread as any i've seen. It's great to see the camaraderie between such an age gap together for a common passion/interest.

40 here. Been in heli's since the days of mechanical gyros. I haven't kept track of how long, but my daughter is now 10 and I was flying well before she was born.Walk on water long enough, eventually you will get your feet wet.

19 years old, coming up on 20 here soon. Been flying helicopters for about 5 years. My 600 Nitro is coming up on its third birthday I believe? Either third or fourth. Also something noteworthy is that I've paid for this entire hobby myself. The notion that if you're a kid your parents have paid for everything can be a little annoying.

lolramen, That's great. And not everyone thinks that. I was 15 flying and paid for everything myself as well. My father made me realize the value of money early. He was there to offer his help and guidence.

I was 15 when I got my first (real on the book) job at the local hobby shop. I rode my bike to work right after school and worked untill 8:00pm every night and 8 hours on Saturday to pay for it all. I wouldn'd change a thing. Fondest memory's I have are those times. Give anything to do it again.

I (15) also pay for all my equipment and helicopters. As mentioned, it does really help me realize the value of saving for something I want, and it encourages me to not learn too fast, causing too many unnessary crashes. I'm also extremely privilaged to have my dad, who is an electrical engineer, to help me with my helicopters. About 90% of my electrical setup would not have even remotely been possible without him.
