I've got a Nova kit on the way. Any tips I should know
while putting it together? I'll be installing the OS91 along
with the Robbe 91 conversion kit (27T pulley, metal fan, etc).
The instructions seem pretty sparse text wise, at least
compared to the Miniature or JR kits. I guess it must
just fall together right out of the box

Hi,

check my page for pictures, I've got a similar setup.

There has been a thread here with lots of useful information (ie how to put mixer arms together and so on), so I would suggest you reading trough the posts in the last few months.

Instrucions are really short, almost no text, but it really isn't that hard. Good luck an a lot of fun wih your Nova

Regards,

Andi

No, I'm not a beginner. This will be my first Schulter/Robbe since I had a Champion in the late 80's. Thanks for the advice.

I suspect your Freya is quiet because of the lower rpm of the OS91. I got the Nova over the Milli specifically for the belt drive.

I just got my Nova flying. I can't offer any better advice than what has already been given......I do think you made a good choice in the Nova. I put an os 70 in mine and I'm likeing it more with every tank of fuel I put through it.....Good luck,
Alan

Karl, you're right on! Slap on a 90 size on the Mille, 710mm blades,
3degree for hover and 1300 rpm head speed, the machine will be
very quite.

the only recommendations I would make is to get the metal horz. fin bracket , and get a CF fins. the plastic fin bracket you can never get tight.

You may also want to spring for carbon frames - she's a heavy ship.

You might want to keep a new high-limit VISA
card under glass.

In case of crash, break glass!

hi Z11355,
yes you want to save your $ for that day you biff your robbe , but I must say in defence of robbe that $ for $ the robbe is not any more to fix than any other "quality" 60, in my experence robbes do hold up better in a crash than most, rarely do they ever fail by themselves and become totals on inpact, due to it's robust engineering and quality.

Just crashed my SE very badly. I could not believe that I was able to straighten the frames and u channel back and All I need is a boom, shafts, blades and couple of bearings. Now I am sure that CF frames are less likely to survive the same crash. Any way, It is almost back to flying condition. G10 frames would have also shattered easily....FYI

Don't worry too much about repair costs - won't be more than a Viggy or Fury Extreme planted in the same way.

Locally we've demolished 2 SE's in the worst possible way - one due to a 8411 failure, the othe went into lockout and planted at Mach 10. The U channel was toast on one of them, but CF frames and pretty much everything between them survived!

These helis are TOUGH - you're going to love it.
