Just finished converting my Raptor 90se to gas today with another helibug kit. Zenoah G240, JR8717'S, GY611 and bls251, Radix 710's. She flies like a dream.
I have been thinking of doing a raptor 90 wih the helibug conversion. Largest heli i have now is titan se 50 with os hyper 50. How does the converted 90 fly compared to that? Is it much faster? How does it sound compared to a nitro? How did you decide what motor to go with and the gearing? I've been keeping my eye out for a 90 airframe at a good price as the helibug parts alone are prettY pricy. I think I would go for the SE airframe to get the metal head as opposed to the 3D version. I have never seen a gas heli in person. Would like to see ine fly before i jumped in. I don't do any 3D flying.

^^^ I'm interested in going this way also, however does TT still produce the 90?
I looked in the usual places but could only find them at Tower, would have thought Helikraft would have them..

I believe the raptor se and 3d for the helibug conversion has been discontinued so i doubt you seen it on towers website. You probably seen the G4 which is a different 90 size heli. Because the raptor 90 has been discontinued, it is also a thought in my mind; do i want to spend $600 on just a motor and mounting parts for a discontinued airframe...

How many still have their shirt that TT was giving away to first 100 who showed up at their booth when IRCHA was back in Ohio?

Rap90s have not been discontinued. Tower is the only/main distributor for TT now.

If you skip me I can't play!

4 Raptors in my collection,

1- 30v2 this was my first fly able collective pitch HELI, got it in 2002, it collected lots of dust when I took time off from the hobby to work on the house, play paintball and waiting for my kids to grow out of the infant/toddler stage.
It now has a OS37 and is fitted with LED,s home made night blades, battery on the head button, LOL, and Nick Maxwell flew it at the Phenom 2013. This HELI will be a part of my collection forever. One of my favorites to fly.

2- 50v2 converted to a 12s electric.
3. 50v2 OS50
4- 50v2 SE. Redline 53

I'm really not interested in the 50 size Raptors, they just sit on the rack, and get a few flights every few months to keep things in good working order.
Would like to sell them off, or maybe I will end up using the parts to repair my 30 if needed.

Excluding the G4, I disagree. I say they have been discontinued.

I have a Raptor Titan SE 50 & a Raptor 90 SE. I really like them. It sucks that TT discontinued a lot of parts. It has made me not want to but anything else that they come out with.
