As I posted earlier, I've had a problem with the frame flex on this heli. At first with the gyro mounted up front, the gyro was wagging. I moved the gyro to the rear gyro plate per the instructions and that problem is now solved, but the canopy still shakes pretty good.

I was at my LHS (MTA Hobbies) today and he has a new frame brace set for the Sceadu made of aluminum. It is two pieces, one square piece and one flat straight piece. He says it is for bracing the frame similar to that done on the Raptor 30/50.

So my question is, does this part help stiffen things up? Does it reduce the resonant shaking of the front tray and canopy? It's reasonable at $20, but I don't want to add it unless I know it improves the vibration problem.

thanks

The NHP carbon frame stiffener will save your side frames! You gain more out of saving the side frames from breaking than you would get from the rigidity.

NHP? Are we talkin about the Sceadu? I have not seen their brace for this model. And my big problem currently is the vibration of the canopy and servo structure of the Sceadu, saving the frames in a crash would be a sceondary and substantive benefit. I find this frame system to be excessively flexible, resulting in the servo structure swinging about 3/8 inch with the canopy off in a hover. The engine (TT50) is new and not broken in, and I expect it to smooth out some, but I feel it shouldn't sway this much.

Vibration...
Stet,
I am not trying to knock down or flame you, but my experience with TT engines is that they vibrate ALOT!
Both my 46 and my 36 ran real rough (with the 46 that was when it ran. )
I have the OS 50 and have very little engine induced vibration. The only time I see the frame flexing is when I put my hand on the head to start it or stop the blades. A frame stiffener will not hurt, but I don't think that is your problem.

Doesn't sound like a put down to me, this is a friends heli ).

I'm not enamored with anything but OS and YS engines myself.

I have the NHP frame brace, and it is very good.
It is most definitley *not* difficult to fit. And it is nicely incorporated with a cooling shroud for the cylinder head. And it is a bargain upgrade at only £12 ($16).

cnsheets - what problem did you have with it ?

Carps.
