ROFLMAO !!!!

A friend of my brothers has an older TSK 30 that he has spent thousands on upgrades for. He has never flown it (pucker factor is too high for him), and it was none other than our favorite friend that talked him into spending all of that money on cheezy HHI downgrade parts.

He (Irwin) is a real asset to the hobby

Rick's RC Heli's??
I'll 2nd, 3rd, and 4th etc. everyone else. I've always had good luck with Ricks in ordering equipment and call backs.

I've even had had times when he turned away business by saying that a certain item(s) weren't necessary. Also had a case where he sent me and extra part, and he said consider it a gift, it would cost more in postage and labor to restock it.

Funder!
Me now sense too that everybody gets great service. They are great people. They are kind people. They are knowledgeable people. They offer fast shipping. Their receptionist is a gentle lady. They are just GREATTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. I'm sure I don't contradict any of the above....... if I got to meet them... or for that matter talk to them. But lets not forget. That is NOT what I orginally posted about. Like mentioned earlier by me and others who have posted to this thread, I do not like to talk to a persons mailbox when ordering from some company especially when there website doesn't have pictures for alot of their products. I'm new to heli's and for me it is nice to see a picture and talk directly when ordering parts. It's my preference!

It's seems they can do no wrong. Not many find it an incovenience to not talk directly to someone. I do. I know they will call you back and agree that is great service.

I respect your opnion

Blackdog..
Did you miss my post above where they said they would be gone until Monday? I have never done business with Ricks (it's the 8% extra I have to pay for living in TX)..I understand your frustration, but if the guys aren't there, they aren't there....maybe they need to train the receptionist better?? I know it sure as hell wouldn't work with our receptionist.....Hope you find some parts before you blow a gasket...if you are really that mad at Ricks, the best way to show it is to buy someplace else...

No I'm not mad at all . Yes I did see your post about them being out of town til monday. When I had this situation it was at the beginning of the week when they were in town. On the third try to speak with them directly about the parts I was going to order it was thursday and they did have a message on their mailbox stating they would be out of town til monday.

I've always had great service from Rick's.....the reason they are out for the weekend is that they drove 8 hrs to Fort Worth to the Heli Heat wave meet....they drive all over to support and further the hobby.....granted, sometimes calls don't get returned right away but they will spend all the time you need when they get in touch with you....just my two cents worth...

Missing the point...
I think everyone is missing Blackdog's point to his original post...

It doesn't matter if they are solving the world's hunger problem, fighting terrorists, curing cancer, or proposing new theories in the genetic makeup of the South American Ganza Fly... if you have a phone number for a company who's purpose is to sell helicopter parts, then there should be someone there to sell the helicopter parts at all times. That is what it means to be OPEN between the hours of 10:00 and 5:00. Or AT LEAST have someone else there that can help you with your order. I think that is all that is trying to be said (except for the part about hunger and terrorists and cancer and the Ganza fly, I added that not Blackdog).

Shaggy, that is why he should start out by calling Helis and Hobbies and ask for Irwin. Then call Heli-world and go from there. Like most of us who have tried the rest at one time or another will stick with the best: Ron Lund. Sometimes waiting is better than the alternative.

The only thing I found is that Ron can't get sheep to vote. True, he did solve hunger problems by having a huge dinner at his shop after his funfly, and it is true he solved dehydration problems by supplying Coronas at the dinner and he helped the needy by giving away free merchandise too.

I think the message is clear: To Each Their Own. For those that cannot wait there is McDonalds and for those that can wait there is Outback.

G'Day!

Ok so if we wait patient and do everything we are supposed to do then we will be treated with the best and if not then "No soup for you!". I don't care if he is the Pope, I can't do a thousand heli marys everytime just to talk to him. I wish I could but I can't. I know that is sacrilege and the heli gods will have it in for me but at least I know I can order my parts on monday quick and easy. I don't think Rick's should change at all, certainly not to suit me. But if they read this then they will at least know some ways they can attract and keep even more customers if they are interested. If they are not, then they don't really have room to complain about Heliproz, Cyberheli, GR8Lakes, Zooms, and all the rest taking up the slack.

BTW, I don't like to order stuff directly off of webpages, I much prefer to call so that skews my thinking a bit. I've never tried any of their online ordering so it may be great, I don't know.

Well, Rick's did goof my order.
I ordered some parts and misc stuff from Rick's website.

I got the confirmation e-mail. I got another e-mail stating that a few of the stuff I ordered has been backordered and I would have to make a separate order to get these. Okay, no problem.

This was back in May. My harddrive crashed, and I lost all my correspondence. He could have e-mail me again asking me a question but I never got it.

It's July now, and the good news is my credit card never got charged. But none of the parts have showed up either. For a reference, if I order stuff from ANYWHERE, it usually takes about a month to get here. This is why I have been waiting for so long. The only store this hasn't been true with is http://www.cdw.com. They must have some special deal going on with the USPS or something. But I get stuff from them in a week.

BlackDog. Believe it or not, as far as rc helicopter websites go, Rick's is the best, however it is no amazon.com. But, I have not ordered from them since (first and last try). On the otherhand, have made 3 orders to heli-world and 2 to helihut w/out problems (again, took about a month to get here).

So, in tongue and cheek. I've tried the best, they fell flat on their face, and now I'm trying the rest, and noticing they aren't as bad as people make them out to be.

Another thing worth noting. I don't like to talk to real people when making orders. I expect to be able to find the necessary information that I am looking for on their site. This is where Rick's website shines. I'll probably try Rick's again, but not in the near future. The original reason for me ordering from Rick's was to "spread the money around." as up to that point, I was ordering strictly from heli-world!

I'll probably give Rick's a try again. And, that's right, I did say I'm a frequent customer of HELI-WORLD.

Funny someone mentioned, an analogy between OutBack and McDonalds. I think this analogy is true. However, I really do like McDonalds! I like OutBack too.

I don't have to call Heli's and Hobbies, Heli world, Heli Universe bla bla bla. I get good service from Heliproz. They answer their phone all the time. Talk to real people who are knowlegdeable about heli's and even when I think I need another piece to fix something... many times they tell me it's not needed. I have looked around and order from other places ie,. absolute heli, airborne models, horizon, etc and get people to answer the phone when I call. Maybe they should hire someone to do part of the work that they are doing now so they can be available to answer the phone, answer questions and take orders or vis versa..

BTW I ordered the slipper clutch from Heliproz should be here monday!
