First clutch failed after 62 flights, the next at 96 flights. My local hobby store tells me that this is normal - I think that it unacceptable. Has anyone had any luck with Rick's Helis start shaft third bearing?

I have a HD clutch in my Rappy 50 and am having slippage. I used a Concept 60 liner the first time and had a very tight fit and the liner wore 1/2 out in only 25 flights. I just put in a stock liner with 2 layers of pop can aluminum behind the liner to shim it to .004 clearance. After 9 flights the clutch is slipping again. When I really push the power I can see and hear the head speed come down much farther than the engine speed.

1 month 1 clutch on my R30, bought last Sep 2001. Now I have modified my R30 to use Hirobo clutch now. U can fly forever if you are just hovering and normal flights.

You will hear a loud noise and the blades will not stop spinning at idle. If you want proof after that, try restarting your heli but be very carefull, it will kick hard depending on your starter motor.

Clutch fail-does it fall under warranty
My Raptor 6.0 ARF.
First Clutch failed around 30 flights but far less than a year. When the clutch failed, it mess up the main spur gear. Just want to know, is it still under warranty ?
Thank you.

I must be the only lucky SOB to have a clutch that hasn't failed. I bought my Raptor used last year. Put 16 gallons through it while it was a 30 and am heading on to my 17th gallon in 50 form. And I am still using the clutch that came with it.
