Of all the stuff you've seen people doing with helicopters, what is your favorite maneuver to watch? And which is your favorite to do?

I enjoy watching someone do backwards rolling circles very smoothly, and I think I like doing nice graceful loops with a piro at the top.

Life's a journey, NOT a destination.

my favorite one to watch is a funnel. Man are they neet looking. I especially like the ones that Jason Krause does. My favorite manuever to do is the hammerhead with 540. I can't do too much else, as I am really still learning.

uuuggghh! I'm getting sucked backed in again...

My favorite thing to do is hover about head high, go down the runway a bit, turn and come back. Then go the other way down the runway and turn and come back. I can go into FF higher but my man berries aren't big enough to do it every time I go out.

My favorite maneuver is putting the heli back in the truck in one piece (you knew that one was on the way).

One of my favorites to watch is Alan Szabo doing the square loop - way cool.

However, I am just amazed to watch any one of the pros flying a routine.

I've seen the ATOM performed by CY, Dave Storey, and Scott Cathy, and yes it is quit amazing to see. And yes the square loops are very cool, Scott Cathy does them really well backwards.

Life's a journey, NOT a destination.

Have to ask...
What is the atom?
I like square loops also. It is the next one I am going to work on after regular loops and rolls.

Fitenfyr, remember what an atom looks like W electrons revolving around the core? Thats what an atom manouver is. One heli in the center with 2 outside all rolling around its axis, precision at its best. I doubt there are many pilots that can execute it well so dont expect to see it often unless the worlds best happen to be visiting the flyin. The heli in the center is moving in 1 spot as well by the way. Hard to sleep at nite after witnessing such awe inspiring flying...............my favorite manouver to do is still autos and flips equally. Dave

All right!
Well Jason K and Todd B are coming to the fun fly here the end of the month. Maybe we can get them to try it. That would be awesome to have on video. I bet one of the local hot shots (read DrScoles) would be able to fill in the 3rd.
How about it Mike? Heck help me setup my Freya better and you can use my ship.

I saw Todd B and Jason K perform the atom. Todd was in the center doing piro flips in one spot with Jason flying around him, pretty darn cool if I might say so.

My recent favorite manuever is to fly backwards about 50 feet, roll over to a jacknife and pull out backwards inverted a couple of feet off the ground in front of you and then continue onto a backwards inverted tail down funnels. Its a pretty cool manuever and the blades make a cool flutter sound when you peel off backwards inverted from yourself.

My favorite is doing autos -- all kinds -- Like racing to the ground and then just floating down the runway at about a foot high while doing a complete 360. Oh and of course touching down and stopping right where you want it to.

I like watching a nice scale approach to a very smooth landing. Most guys just seem to back it in and then land -- very unrealistic looking. It doesn't have to be a scale bird, but come on guys -- at least let her fly like a real one now and then. hehehe

i like flipping forward from a low hover to nose-in inverted, then launching full-throttle backwards inverted circuits. people have told me it looks like an out-of-control moron is on the sticks, which might have some truth to it.

One of my favorite to watch is when Youngblood hovers a few feet high inverted and pirouetting and then drops to a few inches and bounces back up. It's so fast you can barely see it.

Favorite that I can do...stall turn with 1/2 backflip at the top and roll on the way down.

Mine would have to be pirouetting, hit full power and full tail and watch it go! Just love it!

My favourite maneuver
Well my favourite is bringing the heli back to the ground in one piece. but apart from that the Cobra roll is pretty sweet.

Death Spiral!!
I get to watch some of the best (Alan Szabo, Danny Szabo & Jason Johnson) almost every weekend and the one move that I can't seem to get enough of is the Death Spiral!
Alan has dropped some from atleast 200' high just pulling out inverted with a couple feet to spare, MAN what an attention getter!!

Oh yea, almost forgot one! Dave Bottita and Alan Szabo flying scale routines. Nothing like seeing a scale helicopter actually fly like it should!
