Honestly.....cerberus
...I'm fighting an up hill battle. EVERYONE in my area, Houma, LA flys airplanes. INCLUDING ME, till about 6 months ago.

This guy wanted me to do some repairs to his web site and I really did not want to do the work, so I told him if he bought me an RC helicopter I would do it.

I figured that would discourage him so much I would not have to worry about it.

Well 3 days latter, this NEXUS ARF show up on my door step.

WELL long story short. I did the job for him, and I've since gotten rid of all my airplanes and I've bought and sold another NEXUS (for parts) and I'm currently building a Century Falcon 50 SE II.

I can do forward flight, a little nose in, and that's about it. I've heard so much about how the NEXUS is great for learning to hover, but once you can to that, get something real to progress. SO that's what I did with the Century Falcon.

All of the OLD DUDES keep telling me to "GO BACK to airplanes,,,you'll be much happier"

But I ain't gonna do it. I've been bitten by the heli bug and I frankly LOVE IT!! I've always been facinated with helicopters even since I was a very little boy.

So, right now, I'm like a spong, soking up as much info as I can.

Where do you fly???

Kirk

i feel your pain my friend...
while looking for fuel and advice about helis, a local shop here told me, and i quote, 'helicopters? nobody flies those things'
lucky for me, i found a local shop that welcomes heli pilots with a smile and parts... their main business is manufacturing their own line of planes, but they keep stuff there for us heli guys.

hey, thats an idea for getting paid for side work, 'your cash isnt good here, bring me a heli, cuz i dont take checks, and i dont take AMEX...'

i am pretty lucky, i have a rec. center field close to where i live (when the soccer moms arent around), a few large ponds (if i ever get brave enough to fly over the water) and some soybean fields in the middle of nowhere. so i dont have to travel to far to fly.

ever consider getting into scale?
