maybe you did it this way
Its suspended above your head like they said, Engine off, rotor head was spun by hand with a sort of slow shutter speed. Then in photo shop you removed the wires. since the tail was also spinning you may have spun the head backwards unless the auto hub is locked up. hehehe but that is just my guess. Maybe it was all one picture but i think that you still used layers to make the background and your self clearer, thats if you used a slower speed. But hey its just a guess

From the look of your hair it appears to me that YOU are hanging upside down NOT the heli and the background is where you did your real photography tricks? What kind of car do I get again>?

Tail Boom Fixed
You have the tail boom fixed at one end. It's pretty obvious.
Anyone wanting their last haircut could do what you did.

Neet pic.

Send it to the AMA.

I'm betting it was from three photos. the blades were spinning and you were touching the button while the heli was on the ground (1), you looking up because you were amazed that the Nexus was flying and you took your hand off the collective to point it out to your friends (2), a photo with the background all around the area (3). Also, you must have dubbed the tank, because we all know that Nexus won't fly upside down without the flapping head failing .

Blue Skies Kirk.

Glad you are here.

The heli can't be right side up the fuel in the tank is where it would be while inverted.

I KNOW! I KNOW!!!
That's not even you flying it, you have a pro flyer and you're just touching it with your finger! Kinda like how people "mow the grass," same here.

No seriously, you have it completely photoshoped. Here are some reasons with a pic:

In the picture, look at the main rotor blades. The green line shows where the opposite rotor blade should be. I don't use photoshop, and even my program has a feature to motion blur something. Looks to me like you just motion blurred one of the blades in the wrong direction!

Tail rotor - Is one side of the TR supposed to be brighter than the other?

Head button - great job - your finger isn't even centered on the button.

Orange circle - aren't there some lines that may be fishing line? Zoom in on the original pic, everybody, and you will see some lines where the tree branches don't interlace.

Solution 1 (using my pic) - you just hung it up using fish line, nothing special, and got up and put your finger on the head button, then used some motion blur and overall blur to make it look real.

Solution 2 (not using my pic) - somebody is flying it for you, and you are just behind the heli - maybe 2-3 feet. since the person can't hover perfectly, they go up and down, side to side a bit. There is a cameraman using the feature of taking multiple pictures per second. Some digi cams have that feature. So when your finger, the head button, and the camera are in line, the pic is taken. Since it is multiple times a second, it will probably catch that moment well enough.

Hey man, i need a car, I'm going to be 16 in a few months! Be kind!

Cassini......Ding, Ding, Ding,,,,,,,YOU are the winner!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations!! YOU win the new car!! I'll ship it to you in my next Fed-X shipment!!!!

See the photo attached this is how I did it:

I hung the heli while running upside down from the trees in my backyard. I ran up the motor and used a slow shutter speed, 1/15 if I remember correctly.

I shot it with my Canon D60 digital camera. I had everything set up on a tripod and my wife pushed the button.

NOW wasn't that fun?!?!?!?!

And as info, I did send it in to AMA for the upcoming cover contest. We'll see what happens.

Yours,

Kirk Voclain

Mopzilla,,,,YOU were close but wrong.
The heli is sinning and I did not motion blur the blade. BUT the blad is spinning slow, so that may accunt for the fact that they don't line up.

OR, it's the angle of incident theory??? WOW, big photograpy words coming.

YOU see when you photograph something coming at you it will always be different than something going away from you.

Thus the blades are SUPPOSE to be different.

READ my profile!! I do this for a living and never believe anything I post. WE'll That is unless I say it's true!!!!
