I have a x-cell30. It flys very nice and pretty fast. It loops good and rolls what I would call fairly slow. I have the ailerons and elevator set at 6 deg. What else can I adjust or change to make it roll faster? It also has fun-key fiberglass blades (550)

Thanks

Remove paddle weights if it has them, add a GV-1 to maintain a constant headspeed or add throttle to cyclic mix, change paddles but be prepared for unstable FF if you do, raise headspeed if its low that will help a bit. install a faster roll servo, put a set of Vblades on it, the list is endless.........................................................................the XL30 is a heavy 30 I had one and yes it isnt the fastest 30 around because of that fact but its SOLID and a good top notch heli.

I put the 30 sized KSJ paddles on my Raptor 30. The roll rate virtually doubled. The hover and forward flight pitchiness isn't as bad as everyone makes out, but it does really speed up the cyclic.

Sir,

I was having the same problem with my Freya.

Here is what I did to resolve:

1) Removed some weight from the paddles
2) Increased the "THROW" in the radio for your Aileron
3) Installed longer servo arms for more "THROW" in the linkages

That should do it - you dont have to do all of the above - start with number 1 and see how it is - then number 2, etc....

Good Luck!

NEW PADDLES
what andymcallister is saying is true. I put KSJ's paddles on my raptor and it made the roll rate very much faster and it increased the head speed. Generally you want thinner paddles.
i think they sell them on these sites

deg. of rolls
I have heard that the aileron and elevator can only have 6 deg of deflection. Is this true? I have the X-cell30's deflections set at 6 deg. Do I need more?

Thanks

Install a pair of the cheap white paddles from Miniature. You will see
a very noticeable increase in your roll rate. I think the paddles are only
$8 - $10. Most the guys around here that fly X-Cell 30's use these
paddles. I use them on my X-Cell 60 as well and would never use
anything else.
