I was just admiring my new YS .80 and was surprised at how light it felt.

I dragged out the kitchen scales and found the following.

YS .80 = 18.25 ozs vs. OS .61WC = 20.75 ozs.

That's a 2 1/2 oz savings AND more power

When I factored in the weight of the respective mufflers I found the following;

YS .80/KSJ muf = 24 ozs

OS .61/Hatori Muff = 26 ozs.

Still a 2 oz reduction!

I think thats significant. When you consider the YS has
all that pump gear etc bolted on.

Almost all the big block engines are lighter than there 60 counter parts. The heavy casting is taken out and replace with a pistion. The os 91 is 18.85 oz.
