Hi,
I noticed some tail vibration on my LMH today. The tail is vibrating up and down only (no left right vibration). Do I need to balance the tail rotor?
Also, I know that the vibration on the fuel line can affect engine performance. I think this is what I am experiencing. When I don't have enough power to sustain a hover, I land it, let the engine run idle for about 15 seconds and after that, the power is back, I able to fly again.I removed the rubber grommet on the frame to reduce the vibration but I think the problem is still there. What is the best way to install the fuel line to avoid vibrations? Is it better to use bigger or smaller fuel tubing for a LMH?

Thanks.......Sylvain

It is possible that you're running the engine too lean. It looses power after a short time and you land it goes to the low speed needle and it is rich enough to cool it down and then you can take off to a hover which switches you to the high end needle and it starts to heat up again and repeat. The vib could be from the lean run also. These little engine (mine as least) loved 30% fuel, it would start hard and run very marginal on 15% but after I changed to 30% it started and ran much better.
This heli does not have tons of power and you needle settings are very critical to get it to fly. Too rich or too lean by a couple of clicks and it won't do squat!
Good Luck
Terry

Spin the tail shaft and see if it is bent.
