I needed the stock frames and had to order it online also. Heliproz is backordered and nobody has them. There was one on Ebay that sold for $50.00, and IT SOLD! The frames are only $25.00! I think Ace is intentionally making their parts scarce to inflate the price. But, that is just my opinion.

parts?
Funny how some people run a business..... I thought as Ace being a distributor that to make a profit they have to get their product to the shelves. I wonder if Authur Anderson has been doing their accounting??????

Try other places?
Hi all, I have been browsing this forum for a monthand decided to join today. I have a Raptor 30 with 1.5 Gallons through it so far with little problems and knock on wood, no crashes. I am still doing hovering and enjoying the he@@ out of it. Anyways I have no problems whatsoever getting Rappy parts at my local store World Class Models, give them a call or check their site( which is still under development) http://www.worldclassmodels.com . I have also never had a problem finding parts from Rick's either.

Hope to chat with some of you often, this is my first post.

There are many places to try
If you can't find parts one place try another:
http://www.heliproz.com
http://www.ronlund.com
http://www.helihut.com
http://www.cyberheli.com
http://www.heli-kraft.com
etc....

I would assume finding parts for a raptor is easier then any other heli due to the fact there are soooo many of them out there.

Notice how all the parts that BREAK most commonly in a crash are back ordered. I remember one time I was without frames for quite a while. Ended up buying a kit and stealing them out of there.

I think Ace Hobby has made a very bad decision by moving their ops to CA from MO.

You'd think by now they'd have their sh!t together..... not. I don't believe TT is the problem, I think it is in the US channel.

I was told Ace doesn't even bother keeping track of back orders now. I heard if a dealer calls in and orders 10 widgets and a tailboom on Monday and the parts come in on Thursday he'll likely not get them, the parts may go to whomever screams the loudest or gets lucky and places the order right when the fresh shipment arrives.

I had great service from Ace service before the move, no bull, just results. Now all we get is BS, no results. Tis' a shame.

I really think that this is the reason why people change brands. I bought my Raptor for two main reasons, cheap and easy to get parts. TT better get their stuff together or hey will lose customers quick!

Cheap and easy stinks if you can't get parts!

How could a company selling kits and parts like hot cakes (so fast that they are backordered) go out of buisness. I can't believe that. I do echo that they get their act together. I have had no problems getting parts so far, but all I have ever needed was in the crash kits except 1 washout assy once.

I don't buy that story of Ace going out of business.

If they were about to go under, why in the hell would they have moved ops to California from Missouri in the last 6 months? I just think they've got their head in their exhaust pipe so to speak...

I further agree that they should be able to get parts from TT. Why would a manufacturer virtually cut off the sole US distributor, I suspect the US heli market is the biggest. No way a manufacturer would do that.

If Ace can't do the job, I'd lobby behind some other established distributor to take over the sticks...

If Ace is really plugged into the industy as it should be, I wouldn't be surprised if they read this thread and would respond. I'd love to hear from an Ace rep about these ongoing issues.

ACE has got a new web site started and has a apology from the president of the company. Check it out and email him and ask for the truth, before too many rhumors get started

If it cannot fly on it's own, then I won't be much help....

Maybe some other company would decide to make raptor parts. Is that possible. There are a lot of after market parts already out there for the raptor. Why not just complete the whole parts list and make money off of Ace's backlogs. There are already a lot of customers. Just make some aftermarket frames, gears, etc. With all the aftermarket upgrades/parts, the only thing that actually belongs to Ace/ TT is the Raptor name and the design.

Good Luck to Ace/TT. The Raptor had a good run. Too bad, I really liked my Raptor. I think it's time to move on and find another hei. Maybe the Sceadu would be a good replacement.
