Buttons???
OK, I have my OS 32 SX-H stripped down and cleaned, I can't see anything wrong.......I have been to the OS engines web site in Japan and to the Great Planes web site. I was looking at the exploded views of this engine on both sites and there is no sign of those plastic "buttons" ???? I used compressed air to dry the parts and the one button that was in my engine is now in outer space somewhere
I had a good look at the ends of the wrist pin and the holes are identical I noticed what appered to be a spring clip on one end, is that all that is required to keep the pin in place??? I still don't know what went through my engine.....I thought it was one of those buttons, but, someone said there is only one in there to start with Now what???? Should I just reassemble the engine without the one button? Or should I look for a part #....if so where???
This is what the parts look like after the anti-freeze bath.

I never thought to take one before Duh!!

Ummmmm, NO..
There should be a clip on each side of the wrist pin and If not the pin WILL score the wall on that side!

Button Button
I had my 32 apart for a bearing change recently. There was one button and one clip. The clip went on the side that spanned a port while the button was used where it would have full contact on the cylinder over the stroke. You need them both and in the right places.

Clips???
Thanks Safe_Cracker, someone else told me that one end has a smaller hole and there was only one button to keep the pin in place, when I took mine apart there was only one button...I thought the other one came out and ended up in the front bearing........now I'm more confused than ever I can't see a part listed even for the clip(s)??????????

Clip & button
I just tore down my spare 32 to check my memory

The button faces aft with the clip forward.
I realize that those parts do not show in the exploded diagram, but may be included with the piston or pin when sold as parts.

I think only one button is used so oil can get into the hole without the button for lube purposes.

Hey BladeRunner,

If you have the time, take all the parts, put them in the original box and send it back for service. Include a note expressing your sorrow for trying to fix their motor and they will put it back. I did this with an old Fox engine on a plank and it came back in perfect shape!!

I hope you have an extra engine to fly with in the mean time. If not call up gr8t lakes hobby and get an SHPro32. I love mine and it never hurts to have a spare. Hey, I could send you mine if you want the Kalt Baron it's attached to also .

Thanks for offer and idea Tom...... This engine is 3 yrs. old and I don't think they would go for it.......hehehe,but, you never know!!!
Maybe I'll take it to Home Depot...they take anything back!!!
I have my R-22 to play with..at least I hope to get the parts I ordered before this wk. end.......I'm off to the London heli Fun~fly on Sat. and want to fly the Robbi there.....
BTW, I think I have been saved!!! I was just talking to my buddy in London and he has an old damaged OS 32 piston that has two of those buttons on it!!! He says I can have it so maybe I got lucky after all.........

Update!!!
I got a reply from GP on the parts for the OS 32 SX-H wrist pin.(thanks for the link Brian). They sent me the part# for the pin and I asked if there should be one or two teflon buttons??? They said they only come with the pin and "it ships with two". They didn't mention the clips???
I guess that means there 's supposed to be two installed....so, maybe that's what went through my engine after all.......as you can see by the picture in the above post there are no scatches or marks of any kind on the piston, the liner is just as smooth. At first the front bearing was "rough" but after I cleaned it........it is as smooth and free as ever, so after I get the buttons that a friend has offered I will install both and see how the engine runs??? I don't know how one button would come apart and end up in the bearing.....but that's what it looks like at this point, I guess stranger things have happened..........thanks for all the info / help guys

Check the porting!
Blade,

I'm pretty sure there should be one clip and one button..

The clip is used where the pin will span a transfer port during it's stroke. If a button is used there, it will get swallowed into the port.

The button on the other end has contact with the cylinder wall all the way down.

OT: Blade, I will be visiting London ON the week of Aug 19 for work.
Any suggestions for Heli shops or fields to visit?

Buttons???
I sent another e-mail to the engine gurus to see if they know what the correct deal is.......it makes a lot of sense what you are saying Brian, my engine had only one button......I'm just not sure if I lost the other one or it's not supposed to be there.
