Dent freezing
I tried this once and all I did was blow out the seams. The dent survived the attempt just fine. Steve.

It doesn't seem to work that well on really big dents and bends.

My MP was totally crushed on one side and it pushed it out almost perfect. I'll post up some pics as soon as I can.

I tried it?
We used to do this trick on motorcycle exhaust. It does work!

I have done it with the zimmerman exhaust on my helis also.

it is worth a try before springing for a new one.

I understand Steves fears and I wouldnt fill a header completely up and leave it in the freezer over nite myself, tho apparently it has worked ok for some. My reasoning is this, ive had to replace outside faucet sillcocks that froze and broke with no hose attached they were shut off but installed facing upwards instead of downhill so as to allow the water to escape when the hose was removed the water just sitting in the faucet WITH an open end but fully filled W water froze and also busted the pipe. Thats why I could never trust fully filling a header all the way and then leaving it over nite, not worth the slight risk not to mention the stress on the pipe alone. Just my humble exp. on the job.

LOL, that muffler is getting dented and undented by ice.

if you didn't know , actually that dent will increase back pressure as it reduces the volume space that was there originally . the airflow may be different but it increases the back muffler pressure, considering a little dent tuning can't hurt at all .

Dent tuning
Ed;
Great idea. I'll try that next time I can't get the motor to run right. A little tuning with the ball peen adjuster.
Seriously, my wife is after me to take her back to PR for Xmas. You ever get back there? If so, where exactly are you from? My in-laws are in Mayaguez, and there's a terrific site to fly on the beach at the north end of town. Would be great if we could get together there some time. Thanks. Steve.
