My computer went bad this week and I had to start all over again with Windows XP and now after I reinstalled G2 I can't get it to work. I didn't take the Direct X update that it asks you during installation as stated on one of the topics here and I went to the web site and downloaded the fix for KEER 183 and I still can't get it to work. I called them up but they are closed on saturdays. WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH.
Everytime I try to open Control Panel for G2 it can't connect but I took the firewall off. Does anybody have any ideas or do I have to wait till Monday when these suckers are there?

run dxdiag and see what version of directx you are running, after this run the tests and see if it comes up with any errors. I am not sure if the prob resides with your OS or the app itself.
If you are running an old version of DX, then I would update via M$'s website.

You have to download the a new control panel first with XP or you get the kernal 183 error. Here is the link http://www.gpsoftware.com/kb/q01-1051.htm
Then load the program then register and do the update. You may have to call them to reset your password. This should square you away.

I would tell you to call the nice folks at the realfight tech support office but, I know they are off today. I did have the same problem you were having and it fixed it for me. I do feel your pain.
It is not the firewall causing the problem. It's the program. Make sure you have it completly uninstalled. Then install the new control panel and then load the program from the new control panel. It should work then. I think that was how I finally solved the issue.

Good Luck
