When I was taking apart the head to remove the main shaft, I had to turn the set screws on the collars really hard until I heard a snap and they unscrewed fine. I was wondering if they glued the set screws in slightly to stop them unscrewing themselfs during flight?

If so, should I do the same when I'm re-assembling? Is it glue or something else that they use?

hi
if you use threadlock ( loctite ) and use a touch too much it will wick in and glue the collar on the shaft too , the other thing i do is assemble the mainshaft in the machine the way you want it and just tighten the screws a bit , to mark the shaft then take it all apart again and carefully file small flatspots where the setscrews hit the main shaft , what this does is when you tighten the screws good they tend to raise a burr and can make getting it apart next time a real bear after that you put it back together and as you tighten the setscrew if your carefull you can turn the collar slightly and feel where the flatspot is and then tighten them down and your "set"
