Hey guys, I've just suffered a bent main shaft and I'm looking to remove it. However, I'm not sure what you use to remove those silver collars? They seem to have a little black thing on the side....

The "little black thing" is a set screw; 1.5mm to be exact. You need to loosen them, as well as the one-way shaft right under the main gear, and the collar on the pitch arm.

Dont do like I did and use a cheap 1.5mm hex driver that chewed up the screws and made them really hard to remove!

This link will help: http://www.e-heli.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=20

Yes, but heed the above warning and don't use a cheap allen wrench, specially on those tiny set screws......... doing so will probably result in you ruining not only your allen wrench but your set screw as well....

You need to get yourself a set of 4 "hardened" good quality drivers if you're going to be into this hobby for any amount of time.....

Also, DON'T use a ball ended driver...... SPECIALLY on the small set screws !!!

The key is to get a driver that fits the set screw well (ball ended driver does not) and "hardened" so that it does not wear easily and cause you to round over the edges inside the set screw.....

Yep, I managed to remove them with a perfect 1.5mm allen key. It was really really tight. I had to apply a fair bit of pressure and they all went "snap!" and unscrewed smoothly from there. Seems like they were glued in or something.
