Hi Mastic, I've bought the combo and it looks good but I cant assemble or fly it till Christmas. The way I figured is the combo's so cheap you've nothing to lose by trying it. It's my first electric heli and worth not having all the hassle of having to source all the other bits seperately.

Same thought hit me, tried it today.
Not much of flying, adjusted tracking, indoor so not so much space to try things. But overall Im satisfied with what I saw, got a 401 instead of the combo gyro.

Genty - me too buddy - mine is my present from my lovely wife. I got the bog standard "lightening" combo from flying-hobby.com. I wonder if it has the new slop-free ball links (hope so!)

Roll on Chrimbo!

The links that came in my kit is almost purple, they seems to fit the balls well!

Yeah I just got my spares kit from Modefo's, and it has the new Links, too.

Man, Align sure updates their kits fast....Lesson to all others.

The new linkage kit with balls instead of z-bends looks worth getting.
Anyone seen if it available yet?

Align is the most responsive company I've seen when it comes to customer feedback. So far they've changed the blades from ABS to other materials, introduced the X version to address tail issues and offered a stretch kit. I'm really excited and can't wait to get my Trex!

I got a complete combo from Flying-Hobby.

The gyro is kind of flumsy, and I am not sure how to make Fung understand that the receiver needs a crystal.

Other than that the parts are first rate. Servos, ESC, motor, battery... Perfect fit. Not like some other combos out there that need you to do lots of upgrading and throw stuff in the garbage.

It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.

jackheli - the servos look to me like rebadged GWS items. Can you detect any slop in the servos? By "flumsy", I guess you mean the giro doesn't work too well?

Thanks
John

I have GWS servos as well. I'll compare the two when I arrive home tonight. I don't think GWS makes micro high torque servos, though.

My first impression of the Align servos was very good. More torque than the normal micro-servos out there, and a lot of care on the overall appearance and assembly.

I normally check for slop on all my linkages and I couldn't feel any when I first put them in, but I'll double check.

I'll let you know.

Thanks Jackheli. I have a Zoom with a GY-401, Hacker B20-15L, HS56 servos, CC phoenix25 ESC, and an SBEC. If I decide I prefer flying the Trex, I'll put all the electrics from the Zoom into the Trex and all the Align stuff in the Zoom. Might even sell the Zoom depending on the outcome.

Cheers

Max Headspeed,

They are not GWS servos (the case is slightly different) and there is no slop.

Hey guys,

I just received my Trex combo from Fung. I got a 40MHz Recevier and the wrong battery. It's looking like I'm going to have to pay shipping to send the items back to Hong Kong. Hopefully we can get everything resolved quickly and at little extra expense.

Did you get a EPro 1320mA pack instead of the JetPower 2200mA?

Dr Noodles,

I got the 1500mah pack. Jennifer with flying hobby has already replyed to my email and is working to help me correct the order. It's looking like I will have to pay return shipping though.
