just starting to put together a eco 8 my first cp heli jeti 30-3 cc45 esc gy401 10 cellgp3300 22 pinion. ive seen serveral posts about starting with a linear thottle curve 0 25 50 75 100 and half stick pitch at 5deg. is this a good starting point and will this hover at half stick? if so will that overheat the esc hovering at 50% throttle. i have also seen normal mode set up at 0 45 85 85 85 would this be better or will this make the throttle too sensitive at half stick down. Or do people with this curve switch to a idle 1 mode of a flat 85% throttle after spool up before they take off and if they do do they also land in idleup1.also on this second set up appox. where will the stick position be at hover? looking for some hovering and mild circuits at this time. sorry about so many questions i just want to get it right thanks.

is that 5 deg. at 50% pitch curve on first eco? and also on the second does that mean you only have 60% of total pitch and only 12% in the middle is that 12% pitch at 5degrees and does that make the pitch more sensitive on the second one? do they both hover around half stick

Curves
Both Helis hovers at around 5 degrees. The curve set up is what works for each different servo. The arms are the same length. This is what works. The Throttle stick is about 1/2 stick for hover. These really fly at about 1/4 throttle in forward flight. About 3/4 stick is needed to transition to hover from forward flight. Here is a good web site on set up of an ECO. Pay very close attention to the tail rotor set up and Gyro set up.

hey slz was just up you way a couple of weeks ago heading to gallinburg. question why to some fly with a throttle curve and some flip to idleup 1 and run with a flat 85 to 95% and just use pitch to control altitute is it just user preferance or is their a advantage either way?

setup
Speaking about about the setup should mean speaking about the concrete angles not a TX preset.

I am running in constant head speed mode 1950rmp -8,0,+10 that is unusual, but anyway I recomend to setup machine in the way to achieve at least -4 and +10. Negative angles are neccessary for flying in the wind. If there is no constant head mode on ESC than to setup flight mode "N" and "ST1" is essential - you realy should fly on "ST1" that has someting like 50-50-100 instead of 0-50-100 that is usualy on "N".

I am trying to give you hints prior to concrete values - setup is pilot dependant somebnody preffer 0-0 konfiguration somebody 0-hover etc ...

Best Regards
Pavel

throttle curve
i dont fly 3d but always use a flat throttle curve 85 percent which is 1660 rpm on my setup by far more control.pitch is a nice 0 25 50 75 100.stick just over halfway at hover.

I switch to a flat throttle curve immediately after starting the blades spinning in regular mode, it's in that mode always during flight - I'm also using a CC-45 (in high governor mode), with a Mega 22/20/3H & 10 cells.

That's the whole idea behind using governor mode - it's maintaining headspeed (within the limits of available power), all you have to worry about is your pitch curve.
