the other day a bad thing happened. I lost orientation when my Eolo was nose in and flying towards me (not normally a problem) and the result was a crash. Blades hit first. These things are scary when they crash with high head speed close to you ! It was running mint but it's given me a good excuse to bling it up a bit with some Quick UK . On disassembly of it i was surprised as to how loose some of the grub screws were confused: Total crash cost with no bling £130….ouch

anyway, here is a pic of my nice canopy....before and after

shame

OUCH!

I know the feeling well. It's a pity the Pro canopy isn't anywhere as near as tough as the standard Eolo canopy. I've smacked my standard canopy into the ground, into a wall and into a few trees and it still survives. The Quick UK bling is great, but a bit of a drastic excuse to fit some.

Ditto,
That really is a shame as your canopy was the dogs! A brighter colour next time may help. I used to fly red like yourself and ocassionally had the same problem. I have now painted on bright yellow and it does help alot. It would still look good with the carbon screen!

Does it perform any better with the bling? I'd be interested if it's worth considering as an upgrade. I couldn't justify it, if it only looked better and didn't perform any different from stock.......BUT....if it does?? Maybe.....

The metal ead makes it track better and be more precise.

bling....
The metal head does allow much better tracking, and i love the SAB blades i put on it. Razor sharp tracking

The matal swash is also good as it doesn't have those really stupid plastic balls that break even if you look at them like the stock swash plate.

I actually prefer to fly my eolo rather than my raptor now, i can't understand why more people don't have the eolo. With the bling the eolo turns from a big picollo to a proper helicopter.

i made it. It is just a standard canopy with CF cloth stuck to the inside with resin. Looks great, the canopy is about 100 times more rigid and it has sorted out my CG issue.

Did you just stick over the window or over all of the inside. I only ask as you said that it greatly increased the rigidity.

I must admit I may go with your yellow colour scheme, I wouldn't have thought to use yellow, but it does look rather smart, maybe because of the CF window, it certainly sets it off.

the fist time i did it with the red conopy, i only applied it to the inside of teh window area. The canopy was trashed in the crash ( see photo at top of post) This time i applied it over all of the inside. I hope it will be a lot stroger in the next crash saving me over £20.

The yellow i used is a nice colour, and it is much easier to see when it is in the air. The paint is on the outside of the canopy. The only thing i would have done differently is to put a couple layers of white first before the yellow as i had to put soooooooo many coats of yellow on to cover the black of the carbon.

Glad you like it
