Maybe I accidently switched on my Enigma machine and what I typed in this end came out totally different for wolfdad cause he had the wrong set of wheels in. OR..... maybe he sent his response to the wrong thread?????
Anyway, my OS 50 is totally toast as during the time the bearing was on the way out the crankshaft ran out of line and wore the inside of the crankcase out. How the motor managed the last flight I don't know
Am eagerly awaiting the Hyper

I have also picked some simple ones, but they get harder as i go along, the last one I picked I was unable to do, at the time of submitting my entry, but practace makes perfect!
I feel that if i do the simple ones well, i will score higher than if i were to do.. say.. a clumsy looking Roleing 8.
My first one is '2 inverted pirouetts.' thats all im reavealing!
how about you?

I can now manage all my set moves, but am having trouble coming up with music to fly to, and working out the " freestyle" round. I've made a list of all the tricks I can do well, estimated a time for each and come up with a total of 25 seconds ..... no not really, about 3 minutes worth. Just need to choreograph them now, hopefully without repeating my set moves. Any experienced 3D Masters flyers willing to give us some tips ????
Don't know whether to go with slow music, so I can keep up, or fast music to keep everybody awake, or no music in case I loose the plot a bit then it won't be so obvious
Still awaiting the Hyper, but have the Freya 90 in reserve.

Music Tip:

Be weary of going for music which is too fast, unless you are convinced you can lock your moves to it... Slow/medium paced is better.

Pick moves and timings that allow flexibility in the synchronisation so you can adapt it with the weather conditions..

The reason I say this is that if it's windy on the day and your music is fast paced with quick moves, you'll be in trouble! (spoken from experience! )

Good luck, we'll all be watching... no pressure....

Hi Guys
I am unsure at the moment if the pa system i have arranged has got a cd input so you will have to leave that one with me at the moment.
The quotes i have been getting for sound equipment is far beond our budget i have managed to hire a small system from the local town council that will do our job i will find out if it has any inputs and let you al know.

The Clubman DIY 'Freestyle' round, is just that, 'Freestyle'.

It is NOT our intention to judge the round in the same way as say the 3DM does for their music round.

From Clubman 3D Website:
The flight can be accompanied by music, as this often enhances the visual effect of a flight.
The idea was for the music to accompany the flight, more as background music only.

Creating true flight TO music, is a pain in the butt. Which is not what we wanted for Clubman 3D.

And, as Neil stated, we are having problems getting any decent PA system without spending loadsa $$$. So I think the time is coming that we may have to remove the Music element of the Freestyle round.

Regards

Paul

i think britflyer has hit it on the head. Flight to music in 3D masters dosn't have to READ 3D flight to music ??? your clubman freestyle NEEDS to be 3D !!

but some tunes may take the judges minds off your dodgy motors.

for the freestyle it will be important to LINK the manouvres well other wise its still alot of fixed manouvres with pauses..

Are u going to Charmouth next week.?? if so i have a spare Hyper that could sort u out untill yours arrives. its brand new so we could just swap if ur really pushed for time.

later

colin..

Hi there
Im not concentrating on the music at all.and i think this may take the pressure off everyone and the organisers if we dont rely on there being a pa system..one question ?..will you need callers for the set 5 or won't they be heard without the pa system..and i have picked an easy 5 and two of them are INVERTED PIRO'S and CONT FORWARD AND BACKWARD FLIPS.im going for stuff i can already do and to enjoy the day and hang out with you 3d dudes..THE 5 WILL BE LOW LEVEL AND ILL TRY TO KEEP THEM ON THE SPOT..ill be happy to just compete for the first time and ENJOY
THANKS FOR THE REPLY ADAM AND HOPE TO MEEY YA..

well at the moment I am playing with heli's as I can't seem to make up my mind which is the best to go with eg a 50, 70, or a 90. I have been flying the 70 mostly at the moment so I may go with that.

As for the manovrues well I am gonna try (as at the moment I can't quite pull them all off but I have time and enough heli's to go for it )

tic toc's
pie dish
rainbow
hurricane
death spiral

as for the standard B part wild card part well its proving more difficult that I thought to get the all the manovers smooth and to look well controlled.

hi Craig
As I said in my earlier post we do have a PA system I am just not sure if we can plug a music source into it so there will be no problem with the calling the maneuvers.
O yes by the way we need a commentator any one interested?
