Good Morning,

A friend of mine just upgraded his Sceadu 50 to an Evo 50. When configured as a Sceadu the model tracked great.

The Evo in idle up, (head speed 1850)..... the model wants to roll to the right and then goes nose down. This does not happen when the model is in normal fight mode (1650) only idle up.

Evo 50.
OS 50
SB 10 exhaust.
9202's
401 and 9254
DP 149 Receiver
MAH 600 mm blades
GV-1
Stock flybard paddles

Things I checked:

Swash timing: OK
Linkage for ailerlon, elevator are all symeterical. No binding.
Linkage for bell Hiller: OK no binding
Linkage for blade grip OK no binding
10/-10 collective.
Cyclic pitch 5 and 1/2
Servo for aileron and elevator centers (Futaba 9202').
Main mast - straight.
Feathering spindle - straight

Does anyone have any ideas what else I can look at to determine what's causing the problem?????????????????????

check to see if those very short rods from the
blade grips to the mixing arms are EXACTLY
the same length.

You/he should be adjusting those longer
rods from the swashplate when doing tracking.

What radio, maybe there is an offset or trim going into effect when the switch is flipped?

Check it on the bench. Flip the switch and see if the swash moves accordingly.

This may be obvious. LOL

Does it happen in hover or forward flight? You need different trims amounts for different headspeeds.

So why not simply sit the thing on a table with the radio on, the engine NOT running, and flip the flight mode switches while you watch the swashplate.

As others have seemed to indicate, it sounds as if the radio has different trims stored for different flight modes. Maybe it's time to zero out those trims and start setting up the new heli from scratch.

Everyone, thanks for your ideas.

It's a 9C radio.

I did check it on the bench in all flight modes (normal, idle 1&2 and throttle hold) and saw no change in the swash plate. None of the servos moved

In the normal mode, (FFF) there is no tendency for the model to roll right and then nose down. I trimed the model in both normal and idle up and the model only has this tendency in idle up.

I'll check the model again this weekend when my friend and I fly and let you know what I find out.
