Ok guys I have got this micro bug now. I just got a Hummingbird elite cp set up and flying and love it. I want to get one more micro. I thought about a zoom but I want something a little more 3d ready out of the box and from all the info that I am reading on here the h2 seems to be the way to go. Are these birds screwed together or is it glued together? And yes guys I did some searches on these matters but I could not come up with 2 much as some of these terms for esc's and some other micro lingo I am still learning, forgive me. I have a few things here that I plan on using let me know what you think
H2 still have to get
401 gyro
Hs 55 x3
hs 50 have to get
Himax 4100 WHAT Pinion
phx 10 esc
3s lipo 11.3 v ( I bought 2 when I got the Hb)
Jr reciever
Does this look Ok for a 3 d setup or any suggestions. Are any of the upgrades a must for 3d If there are I will get them with my kit. Thanks alot guys and I look foward to building it this weekend hope fully

For the Himax 4100 you want to use a 12T pinion. The Himax fits my current style of flying (basic aerobatics and some flips) but for serious 3D you might want to consider an outrunner style motor. Also, I would suggest, although not necessary, to get a Bell Hiller upgrade and weighted blades. The response becomes much more direct compared to a flybar only system. Much like a nitro bird.

Out of the box, there needs to be some CA applied

Although, if you get some aftermarket parts, pretty much the whole thing can be screwed together. For example:

- Intruder or Duzi Servo Mounts
- Duzi or HeliUp tail upgrades

Build tips
Check out Dee Tee's site for some great info on how to 'eliminate' some of the glue joints. I did a free mod to the tail slider off of that site in the 'INFO' section under FAQ's/HINTS and TIPS. It lets you use a cotter pin to hold the tail slider instead of CA. Much safer. If you have the MS bell hiller, get the upgrade for it that puts bolts in place of ca posts. Here is the Tail Mod:

upgrade for MS
I got my Bell Hiller upgrade from Dee Tee enterprises. Wes is a great guy at Modefo...he totally went out of the way for my Duzi main gear. Thanks again to both Dennis at Dee Tee and Wes at Modefo. I just got my Hornet 2 doing mild 3d yesterday and I'd be glad to help if I can. James

Here is the Link for the page that has the part you need:

S&S upgrades
For 3d, Dennis at Dee Tee suggested the S&S Head upgrade (block only), S&S Tail upgrade (really cool with thrust bearings inside). This is what I have on mine so far, along with the Duzi One Way Gear with a walts hollow main shaft and ball in swashplate....you dont need the duzi or walts for 3d though.

set up
Im new to micro e's. I have flown nitros for a while. So I had some problems for sure. It seemed to be my fault, like not having the 'travel' for the throttle in my JR 10x tx at 150%. At 100% I could not get full throttle out of the esc. I flew at a much too slow of a head speed for a while and even crashed because of it. I also had a wag at the tail caused by too much LIMIT on my 401 gyro. After fixing this and adding a little bit of DELAY on my 401, now it flies great. Here is a pic of it:

I am going t be using a 401 as well about what did your delay and limits end up being? How are your climbouts with that motor ? and your pitch range? I am new too If you can;t tell

set up cont.
On the 401, I have the Limit set to 70%. The Delay is 15%. I used the guage that came with the kit...the paper one...it works suprisingly well for what it is. I have seven degrees at both ends in stunt one and hover. 3/4 stick hover is about five degrees, normal upright an inverted. My JR 10x curves are:

Pitch Normal: 12,25,50,75,88 Pitch Idle up or stunt 1: 12,25,50,75,88
Pitch Hold: 12,25,50,75,92

Throttle Normal: 0,90,97,98,100 Throttle stunt 1: 100,99,98,99,100
Throttle stunt II: 100,100,100,100,100

The Axi motor has plenty of climb out power so far...I have to fly it some more to tell...I had too much pitch the other day when I climbed out hard, it bogged and the tail turned....so I lowered the ends of the pitch from 8 degrees on the ends to 7. It did a roll with no problem. To see this motor with the Duzi Main Gear/13 t config. fly 3d with plenty of power check out the Martin Duzi video on the back pages of PHOTOS and MOVIES. He flies great and when you watch his video, you immediately spend a huge amount of money to get a Hornet 2. So far Im not let down. Its too cute to be mad at

I did my mechanics again when I glued the servos down to center my throws better. These are my most recent settings.
