I have a friend of mine who asked me if high band or low band is an issue on changing the Tx. crystal on a Futaba 9c or T6. I wasn't sure so I thought I'd ask the pro's. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure about the TX, with RX there is a low band and high band issue. But you also need to know that it is against FCC rules to change a TX crystal, the TX needs to be re-tuned after xtal replacement. For that reason it's usually very difficult to find TX crystals.

Technically, and if you read the Futaba documentation, yes.

But I am using a low band crystal in a high band RECIEVER, and it works just fine. I know of several other people doing this with no problems. I don't know if TRANSMITTERS are the same in this respect, I'm sure someone on here will share their experience. But where recievers are concerned, no problems here.

He may be talking about changing the module, that is legal. As I understand you just cant open the module and change just the crystal. Just a thaught.
