Flying while drunk is definatly not a good idea. As it is proven beyond all doubt that alcohol definatly impars judgement and increases the drinkers confidence to the extent that risks are taken. Not good in our hobby.

Now I'm not going to make a call one way or the other for flying while stoned. But some time ago I either read an artical in a magazine or saw it on a tv documentary. Where tests were carried out on a few volenteers where they had to drive a set series of tests on a closed track, first while sober/clean whatever you call it wuth pot. and then repeet the tests after they had smoked a joint. The results showed that the in parking type tests where a lot of judgment was involved people actually scored better after a joint. While the Speed tests given were slower after a joint. The reasons given for this were that pot unlike alcohol makes people more cautious.

At some of the clubs around here there is a board up with the list of club rules, on all of them that I have seen there is rules for this type of guy. I have seen twice someone escorted off the club land, both times were becouse they were drunk. There was a time another was run off the feild for flying over the pits all the time. In all of the cases the guys returned but noone would let them fly until they cleaned up. To my understanding they have never been seen at the feild again.

Of course by now, the thread has disintegrated into a bunch of mindless drivel.

From the last few posts here, it appears that "the Wasp" isn't the only one with a problem. At least his is real, and he's concerned about solving the problem legally, permanently, safely, and not ending up making matters worse by ending up in jail, serving time for assault and battery.

And somehow, I don't believe that children of police are allowed to get away with things. That really doesn't say much for our police, does it?

How sad.

Ya, sure ya can
Daddy can't cover for you forever, eventually, you will have to grow up and accept responsobility for your own actions.

I wonder what your daddy or his partners would say about reading your posts. How you can get away with endangering anyones life by being an idiot and purposly causing radio interferance, causeing a potentially lethal crash on purpose. Than what are you going to say? "I didn't mean it?"

shooting him down is fun to talk and think about and laugh at, although in his case it would be cheaper than jail, but not very moral and we would not do it !!, if we shoot him down we are no better !!, why lower our selves to his level,,,

Person,,, just from your short replys people know about you more than you think,,,

a cop here in our city has 2 sons in jail.

you can't sue for shooting some one down that isn't in the ama he was on private property he got what he asked for
AMA has nothing to do with this thead other than the fact that the club is AMA chartered, and the members who fly there are AMA members and follow the AMA safety code. They are, and will be covered through their own personal liability insurance, the AMA insurance, or a combination thereof.

The dork who is NOT a member of the club, or the AMA, is setting himself up for a huge problem should he cause an accident, an injury accident, or a fatality.

As for "you can't be sued for shooting someone down", you are dead wrong.

Frankly, anyone can sue anyone for anything. In a civil suit the burden of proof is far less comprehensive than that of a criminal suit.

I believe that if the complainant were to prove that you intentionally turned on a transmitter to bring his machine down (no matter what your reason might be), you would be found responsible for damages.

Were you to intentionally shoot someone down, and in the process, cause an injury or fatality as the result of YOUR actions, you would most likely find yourself in criminal court being charged with reckless endangerment, involuntary manslaughter, depraved indifference, or something along those lines.

I believe you would also find yourself named in civil suits brought by the other people involved in your act.

By posting and bragging about your actions on previous occasions, on a website that is open to anyone with a web browser who happens upon this thread, you have gone a long way to providing those involved with proving your intent, your motive, and your actions.

Dave,,, a couple years ago here we had a guy kill a guy while bow hunting, it truly was a freak accident, the arrow deflected off a branch and hit another hunter, forensic's found the branch the arrow hit, he was found not guilty in criminal court, but he was found guilty in civil suit for 200 thousand.

Do Not shoot down people's heli.

That's the stupidest thing you can do.

That bring you Far Below his level.
After all this is an issue of responsibility.

I mean at least he is in control of his helicopter and will not conciously hit someone with it. (if he is total wack head I'd think he would crash a lot by now and would not be able to pay for all the crash cost)

But by shooting down his heli, you are risking the life of everyone around the area on purpose since you are delibratelly sending a helicopter out of control. You are far less responsible than this pot smoking flyer. And you are not even smoking pot! haha

What if the helicopter went off and hit somebody, you'd be the one responsible!
People, think more before you give suggestions like shooting down helis here. people that actually shoot down other's heli on purpose are the ones that should be kicked out of this hobby!.

I am not defending this guy or anything.

I am just saying, don't behave worse than this guy.

Or else its you that needs to be kicked out.
The guy that said he done it 3 times already, is it dewey?, I hope you learn that your action could kill someone and it is the next worst thing compare to intentionally hitting people with helicopter.

BTW, I find it amazing that you guys are focusing on this pot guy rather than Dewey here.

Seriously, find out who this Dewey guy is and let him understand how dangerous his actions are and stop him before he hurt somebody else.

This dewey IS the stupidest and most irresponsible person I've ever met that's in the hobby since his doing almost the worst thing anybody can do in rc hobby. flying while drunk is nothing compared to shooting down helis on purpose.

I think the best way to deal with Dewey (fmrly perphanger1) is ignore him. Just someone with an inferiority complex trying to get a rise out of others through his keyboard.

I can't believe this Dewey guy is for real. After reading more and more of his posts, it seems like it has to be a joke. No one can be that much of a moron.....could they?

Going back to the original thread for a minute.....This guy keeps turning up stoned and/or drunk, he cant be that bad if he keeps coming back to fly, flying under the influence is something I wouldn't do, too much respect for other people and my own kit, but if this guy turns up with no AMA due to lack of funds, then surely he must be a reasonable pilot who is capable of flying safely otherwise surely he would have put his model into the dirt by now?

As to how to get rid of him, well nothing useful to offer on that one

Just the observation that he is a capable flyer, otherwise wouldn't he have run out of kit by now?

gravity REALLY sucks

Dewey:

I wouldn't be proud if I were you . Your English is horrible. You show your ignorance in the manner in which you write and through your thought processes.

Perhaps if you had spent more energy remaining in school rather than trying to get kicked someone else kicked out, you wouldn't be so illiterate. Class clown is not an award to be proud of either.

By the way, you could not have been expelled 63 times. One is expelled only once from a particular school. You probably meant "suspended" 63 times.

You are a young man. When you grow up, you will be very, very sorry. I know you have no comprehension of this at this point in time. Good luck in life.

Best Regards, Dario
