I put a on board temp guage on my raptor..I am still breaking in the motor and after a 7 min flight of hovering and forward flight the temp guage said about 100 f, this was the max and the min was 88......The main needle is out 1 3/4..i started with it out 2 1/4 with a temp of 88F.....What is the normal temp and High needle settings for best settings...I am using 30% cp and a maverick muffler....Right now it seems to have plenty of power and seems to be running rich,,I tried the pinch test and i know the low setting has to be rich since I can count to seven before the rpm starts to jump...
thanks Shawn

i'm running 160 to 180 (measured with IR after flight) with standard TT muffler (very similar to Mavrick muffler IMO) 1950 head speed, great power. 1.5 on the main, tweeked the idle ever so slightly leaner, so the slot is in the adjust screw/cam is about level.

You need to lean the motor out some more. My experience has been that they seem to run best at around 1 1/4 turns out. You want to get your temp up around the 200 mark.

yes even for breaking in that engine is rich, for breaking in you want the engine to be about 150 f and then for final temperature you want to be about 200 to 210 for a fifety

Take the Fu****g sensor OFF the heli and just FLY!!!!!

On the ground IMMEDIATLY after the flight you should be able to put your finger on the centre of the backplate for about 5 seconds or so. Any more is a bonus, if you're getting the performance you want/need.

I have a Venom temp sensor on one of my 50's and it runs anywhere from 150-180. If all you're reading is 88-100 you need to make sure the sensor probe is in the right palce and making good contact with the engine.
