All,
Just finished Graupner BO 105. Have installed a CSM 420 gyro, went through setup on bench and all OK.
Went to flying field started engine and the tail started to KICK badly, this got worse went model lifted off the table. When engine stops all is well again.

Any ideas or anybody came accross something similar??

All suggestions welcomed!

How smooth is the engine running ??

Have you tried reducing the gyro gain, what is the gain set at ??

Just checked gain, now sitting at 55%, tried reducing down to 30% no change

Way to low gyro gain, should be around 80 and above.

Servo arm length ?
Head RPM ?
Is there any slop in the tail linkages from servo arm to t/blades ?

Hi Ryan,
Don't see the relevance of the questions as it does it when engine at tick over with no blades turning?

Mind you didn't increase gyro gain only decreased it. Maybe that is worth a try.

Also was thinking, maybe the standard mounts supplied are a bit too soft?
