I'm looking for some!!!
But now that I have your attention, would you please help me with this?

I've read over the Shogun instruction booklet and nowhere does it talk about balancing the main and rear blades or balancing the helicopter itself. Can you guys help me out. . . again!
Is there a web site that explains this?

Hi harrymc

Check out this link to find out about balancing rotor blades:

http://www.dream-models.com/eco/Blade_balancing.html

I made my own blade balancer tool using a small spirit level , I drilled a hole through the middle under the bubble and put a wire through there. I then drilled and tapped a 3mm blade mounting hole on each side. Then I balanced the balance so the bubble was dead center. Then I mounted the blades to balance them. Its very exact. Feels lovely on the heli.

The C of G is also simple. when you pick up the heli by the flybar it should hang perfectly level. If the tail is down move the battery forward to balance it and visa versa. Try to not add any weight to balance the thing.

Hope this helps

Regards
Mark

P.S. If you find any free upgrades let me know !!!

I use a high point balancer and it works great for the tail.
The main blades I use the century blade balancer.

If your stuck to balance the rear blades just take a gear at the rear and let the whole blade assembly move freely. If your bearings are good it might get a near enough balance.
You can use a piece of string but this can be tricky. You have to get the blades clamped together and have the string coming out each side equaly or you get a wrong reading.

Holding the heli from the flybar will give you a CG on the heli.
You can balance the heli by holding it to the side. If the tail drops add move the battery forward and vise versa. My giro works a lot better nowsince doing this! The CG is also bang on.

Nyala where did you get that fuse? I gota have one

Hey JoeB1

The airwolf fuselage is from Flying-Hobby.com in Hongkong. This one comes with the retracts included, without the servo though. I have however ordered another version of the Bell 222 from JMD models which looks like its more scale ( and has better cooling airflow ) . I have the retracts now so ill use them for the JMD fuse. Looking forward to getting that one. The price was the same $55, although i see the Hongkong one is now $49,50. I would look at the JMD one if I was looking now for the first time.

The retracts are actualy quite easy to make yourself. If you want I will explain how to make them.

Here are the two links. I will post the pics of the new fuse in a few weeks time ( I have to paint it first ).
