It has decided to start raining here on the Gold Coast of OZ. 10" of rain in 24 hours with major flooding in most areas , so no flying for some time . We have had one of the worst droughts in history so this is most welcome and we really don't mind not being able to fly because of the welcome rain. It is nice to have the G2 Sim to use in this type of WX so at least I can practice a bit , and boy do I need it . Hope to fly next weekend .

We certainly cannot complain after the dry spell we have had . Since my post a while ago we have had another 2" here in the Gold Coast Hinterland . Thats a total of 12" or 300mm in 36 hours . This is the best rain we have had for well over 15 years for Nov in this area. The simulator and a bottle of wine for company are quite sufficient at the moment although my flying on the sim gets worse as the wine gets better . Next weekend should be ok I hope

Try living in the UK and getting flying time in, almost does not stop raining for 6 months of the year, thats winter, then it will rain for four day a week in summer, and most of that will insist on being on weekends

I feel for you guys living in areas where the rain stops you flying lots of the time.. here most of the time its just plain too hot to fly unless its early morning or late afternoon in summer.

mmmmm Gold Coast raining , I'd hate to be there when its raining. Its a beautiful place.
I was there in 2001 and in march - april 2004 , visited Sydney , Brisbane , drove to Longreach , Mnt Ilsa, Rockies and to the gold coast , visited lamington national park, etc

While there i visited the Tingapala ( spelling !!) r.c club next to a large park land.I also wanted to visit the monthly meeting on the road to Toowoobaa , but i was a weekend to early.

Good to know that the heavens are opening as the guys inland Charleville , Longreach were complaining about their livestock not going to pull through.

chow !!

Why is it such a big ask for people to fill in their profile? I always like to look at the place of origin from someone who posts. Logan Qld is pretty hard to type I must admit.

I always get a bit scepticle reading posts from people who don't want to give away their location.

Oh yeah, we've had alot of rain down here in Melbourne as well.

It finally stopped raining down here on Sun Afternoon at 7pm . Got a total of 235 mm here but others not far away got 350mm . Lots of flooding and wind so definitely no flying. It looks like more on the way today and for a few to come so no flying for a while yet .
It is not that often in this part of the world to miss out on flying due to weather but we seem to have a run of it lately , but no real complaints as the country desperately needs this rain.
. Hopefully next Sat will be OK .
As for " sparkhead " this post was started to amicably discuss the weather stopping us flying NOT to have a go at someone who has the right to chooses not to state their location if they wish to do so . If you want to be petty and pick at insignificant things , then start a topic of your own on that subject and leave us in peace to chat amongst more rational people .

Hi Rod ,

Hopefully Hinze Dam is up with all the Rain over the past few Days.. I know a few people were getting very worried about it. The valley will be green and lush , just what we needed, hope theres more to come throughout summer too, as long as it gives us a few days flying a week preferably weekends =)
. Going to try and get a fly in tommorrow morning fingers crossed the heavens can wait an hour or 2 =)

Blue Fronted,
Come back anytime, glad you liked Oz =)
