Looks like JR has made a pretty nice looking heli, wonder how it will fly. Anybody know what the street price will be on this bird?

It's the engine thats expensive ,I bought my Kit for about £900 - that makes the engine gold plated.

Branzzz, here is some info about the IMZ 50 engine. Note that a 90 version also came out.

JR IMZ 50 engine

For the heli modeler in the market for the best .50-size heli engine money can buy, the search is over. JR's IMZ RV-50S has everything a power-hungry pilot could want, including a KSJ tuned muffler. Featuring a side-mounted slide valve carburetor with Reed Valve induction, the new IMZ RV50-S is one of the smoothest running engines out there and extremely reliable in any flight

regime, including wild 3D maneuvers. Its prodigious power substantially increased the thrust-to-weight ratio on our test model well beyond that of the nearest competitor and yielded more torque as well. The side-mounted carb was a breeze to tune, and the Reed Valve induction helped keep the mixture right where we set it. JR's IMZ RV-50S features a unique mounting pattern, so a special mount is required to install the RV-50S in the JR Voyager 50 or Ergo 46. The JR IMZ RV-50S offers a premium performance engine well worth every dime, and the included KSJ muffler really lets it scream. If you want to over power your .40- to .46-size heli, this beauty is the engine for you

neagron,

Could I point out a few things please ? MacGregors has told the dealers that this Heli is a special order and as such spares will take time to appear. MacG's has over £120,000 invested in spare parts for the Heli range that they cover ( which is pretty much most of the available JR Helis ! ).

MacG's place a spares order on JR in Japan on a monthly basis and parts arrive on average every 4 weeks or so. When you needed the spare parts, did you place an order with your local dealer ? MacG's can only place orders if they are aware of parts needed. The system is geared to shops ordering the parts, if the parts are not available from stock then an order is automatically raised for JR.

If you deal with customer services, their system ( although running parallel ) will NOT place the parts on order. Therefore you MUST place any order with the shops in order to generate an automatic order !

As the Airskipper is a new item, spares will obviously again will take some time to come through. However this is semi dependant on the volume of AS30's sold. MacG's wont carry a large range of spares for a Heli if only a small quantity are sold. I believe this to be standard practice throughout the world.

If I am wrong, I apologise.......

I've been liking the Sylphide 50 since the first day I laid eyes on her. That Parkmite looks like a hell of a micro as well.

Next months edition of MHW magazine is a review on the Slyphide 50 for anyone interested.

DEAR MAC MAN Idid order parts through my normal heli shop they then ordered them from yourselves igot 2 or 3 parts and whas told that the rest where on back order, since then nothing has turned up I know it is impossible to keep every part. I wounder if it would not be possible to keep the parts that would normally damaged in a crash. Also on the like of the AIRSKIPPER30, many newcommers will start out with this heli and what A shame if they cave up this so rewarding hobby because of not being able to get SPARES. I will still fly JR because of there GREAT QUALITY and FLYING FINNESS. I have made my point Mr Mac Man, and i am certain in the next few MONTHS all will be adressed GOOD FLYING MARTIN

Todd,

Motocrossers may use reed valve induction, but the true kings of 2 stroke motorcycle horsepower in 250cc displacement are the GP 250cc road racers and they're still running rotary valve induction. I guess if GP250 races were televised more often in America you wouldn't think of motocrossers as the pinnacle of 2 stroke technology.

Neagron,

Thanks for responding. If you wish to PM me with the part numbers that you have ordered and let me know the name of the shop, I shall look into it to see where we are at. I know that we looked at the commonality of spare parts for Sylph50 today and found that only about 6 parts are common items.
