The Funtech muffler fits V close to the frames on my Freya with YS91. So close that the muffler touches the centre (not a typo) left hand engine mounting bolt. My solution at the moment is to remove that bolt.

Anyone else had to deal with this? What was your solution? Should I put a dent in the muffler to clear the bolt?

Those are std. cap screws, right?

Replace that one screw w/ an M4 buttonhead

Close? There was a lot of space on my Nova, but I had to use a 4.5mm spacer to clear the fuel tank.

Sorry I missunderstood you, you can use a 1.5mm spacer between exhaust port and header to solve this issue as well.

Hi KMorgan,
I know what you are talking about,
what we usually do is put a gasket between the muffler and the engine, if you put there the original Funtech gasket than you'll solve your problem.

Hey KMorgan,

on my Freya EX WC i got a YS91 \ Funtech muffler, i got it second hand and this heli was built at the Hirobo factory. anyway, they just took out the washer from the middle bolt on the engine mount on the left side, and this gave about 2mm gap between the muffler and the bolt, which is enough. you can do the same.

good luck.

Yep, that's the way too, but it will weak a bit your engine frame.
Some guys here do it like I3DM said,
some use gaskets.
No one ever get any problems.

Gone with the "remove washer" option. Have to say, this muffler looks sooo much nicer than my MP2. It's like I3DM's, Andi G's muffler must be a different version. Looking forward to seeing how it performs.
