i finished building my 50SE and im getting the engine and all that good stuff soon i have 4 servos in it now and i noticed that the tail shaft that holds the tail hub slides about 3-2mm side to side, i kno this will drive the gyro crazy when i fly it so i looked into it, i kno that the holes on the shaft are in diffrent places when it comes to how far away they are from each end, and i kno that the shaft insnt backwards because the ingraved area for the long tail hub screws are in the correct place but! the tail shaft slides from side to side the tail pully i was told after installing keeps the tail shaft in line, well i have that set up correct but it still slides!!! i even took it apart 3 times to cheack the bearings to make sure they are secure and they are, so its not the bearings sliding, but i dont kno wats wrong this is driving me crazy, do any of u have an idea of what it could be ill try anything, i wanna fly this thing

oh and a friend says i dont need a Gov with my 30 but i think i do what do u guys think?

One side of the tail pulley might be on backward. Make sure that both halves taper to a 'V'.

I run governors on everything I own - wouldn't have it any other way.

Look at your manual - page 12 - part number BK0051. That part of the pulley can go on two ways - make SURE that the two halves form a 'V' as mentioned earlier. You can put it on the wrong way - ask me how I know....

I think you need to sharpen your building skills and setup skills before getting a governor. It is possible to build the tail wrong as this question has come up before..............

flip BK0051, the smaller of the two pulley parts 180 degrees and reassemble.

Skillmaster - it's a common mistake, on account of the manual being less than clear on this one.

You might want to have a look at Fritz the Cat's Supplementary Raptor Assembly Manual, which covers common mistakes like yours (and mine )

yeah im doin 3D and a guy says we can do 3D without it but i loss alot of the power i have with out a govenor i think to keep the head speed in line he pulls the mid point on the thro curv down to 40 rite now and he wants to make it lower, i dont like this idea i think a govenor would keep it in line without killing to much power, i meen my 30 has alot of power for a 30 and he is killing it by doing it his way, it still flys fine just no more power, what do u guys think?

there are other things you can do to help out if you do not have a governor.
If your radio suports it, create some mixing from your cyclic to your throttle, so that anytime you move your right stick off center, you add a bit of throttle. Start at 10%, and adjust as necessary.
You MUST ensure that you do not overdrive your throttle servo at full stick.
