I have had both and the Kyosho M24 Caliber was returned to Tower for a refund after one day of flying. I still have the XRB Sky Robo wireless RC Lama and it's a keeper.

No don't buy the carbon fiber blades. It doesn't fly that well with them on. Their too stiff and if you go hard left and right the blades will touch and break. I use the carbon blades on the bottom and foam blades on top. It works well like this, but I don't use both top and bottom at the same time. They warp the main shaft really fast and it wobbles like hell.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

i've got both the Blade CX and XRB SR. They both fly really nice and effortless but the quality and smoothness of the XRB can't be beat. I can do 10 second hands off and it just hovers there on its own. XRB man..

I have a shogun V2, it is really nice for learning, very stable, only maybe $60 extra to go brushless. Since i needed to get the ESC anyways, I got a brushless ESC for the same price and bought the blue Eflite brushless motor, cheap gyro, cheap servos, flies great!
For 3D I would invest in nice servos though, and heavier blades.
