My Zoom is flying great, rock solid tail (401)

The only thing that is getting me right now is that when I am hovering off the deck and I punch it hard to do a vertical shot, the tail rotates out to the right on me.

How can I mitigate this?

Thanks!

You need to adjust your linkages so that at center you have a little pitch on the tail blades,5-7 deg. or so. Also check to make sure tail shaft has not moved on the crown gear which I have had happen to me once. If that is the case, CA it so it won't happen again.

The other obvious one is to make sure you have one of two scenarios in place:

If you have a heading hold gyro, in heading hold mode, make sure revolution mix is turned off.

If you have a rate gyro, make sure revolution mix is turned on. If it is already on, you might need to increase it a bit.

If the tail mechanics are ok, it might be that your head is speeding up on the climbout, which changes the torque on the tail rapidly. You can try leveling your throttle curve out. Increasing gyro gain will also help combat the situation.

Belt drive, so its not the shaft

I have a 401 with HH and all Revo and mixing off

I can increase the gain, but I dont to introduce wag either...

My TH Curve is like this 1-80-80-80-90 in Governor mode

My PC, from memory is 1-20-35-45-55 or similar

I think its the torque prolem mentioned in the last post.

Probably that 1-80 step in the throttle curve

Ah! Govenor mode! Those that use govenor mode suggest you need to put the throttle curve above 85% for it to work. Also, the govenor throttle curve is generally the same number all the way through. You have a 90% on the end. That could easily cause your problem.

Try somthing like 0% 85% 85% 85% 85%.

If that doesn't work, you might try it without govenor mode.

If you have too much postive pitch it can cause this due to headspeed loss, thus slowing t/r as well. Check you postive pitch and crank the throttle % to or above 85%. We are 3Ding at 95% with the same setup as you.

Don't come off the throttle untill you see your GOD!
