Reflex XTR is generally believed to be the best. But, I have G2, and that works fine. It got me flying. The main reason I got G2 was because it came with a receiver. This was before I had purchased my real receiver, so I needed it.

So, if you're getting new, get Reflex. But, if you can find a cheap, used copy of RealFlight, I'd get that. It would work fine and save you a few $$$$,

Reflex XTR is great if you are looking for eye candy. With RealFlight G3 coming out, you should be able to get G2 real cheap now, either here or on ebay.
I'm not knocking Reflex....it's a great sim (yes, I have used it), but, IMO, you are paying for the graphics. If you want to learn how to fly, G2 does great. I learned on G2, and when I went to the real thing, my training gear were gone by the fourth tank of fuel. I was flying circuits, doing knife-edge turns, looping, and nose-in hovering & landing by the end of my first day.
Now, six months later, I can flip, roll, funnel, pie-dish, fly & hover inverted, and am working on tic-toc. I now have better than 170 flights on my rappy 50v2....with one crash to my name (big-time overconfident panic freeze-up dumb thumbs ran-out-of-headspeed $150 Oh-S#!t......that's a lot of damage on a raptor).
[EDIT: Technically, I've had two crashes. The second one I pulled out of a stall turn about 5' off the deck & lost the glow plug. Didn't have much room to auto & had a boom strike.....$14 for boom & feathering shaft.]

G2 will do you just fine.

maller also makes a good point in the fact that G2 comes with the controller, so you won't have to use your own. My G2 controller has taken a beating (and looks it). I would have hated to put that kind of wear on my 9C.

My $0.02

Flying a heli is like seeing the Matrix, it is a mind bending experience.

I have Reflex XTR, Realflight G2 and Aerofly Pro.At the moment I think that Reflex is the best with Aerofly Pro a close second and G2 a distant third. However, Aerofly Pro Deluxe is due out in a couple of weeks and could take first place.G3 may become the best but the heli upgrades won't be available until next spring.
