Guys,

Im sure this has been asked before so any help would be great!

I replaced the Stock motor with a Himax 4200 with 8 t pinion for main and 10t for TR
the motor gets very hot!!! there is no noticable binding in componets and gear meshs seem fine speed controller is set to gov high with high advance. throttle curve is set to 0,75,85,95,100 also I haven't timed flights yet on a TP 2100 but If i were to guess they are about 9 min
any help or pointers would be great!

Thanks

Setup
I believe that if you in GOV mode you need to flat curve the throttle..

For a 4200 with an 8th I would say 0 then 80 straight across..

Try setting standard timing rather than high advance.

Yes You need a flat throttle curve.
hover mode 0-70-70-70-70
Idleup 1 80-80-80-80-80

This is a good starting point for high gov mode. You can go up or down from here to get the head speed you need. With the curve you have now the ESC is going nut's trying to keep the head speed the same.
I dont think this will help the heat prob. but it will make your heli and ESC HAPPY

Also 9 minutes seems very short for a TP2100. I get about 18 on 2100s with my Hacker. Definitely sounds like you're drawing too much current.

picked up a new motor today and no more temp problems while looking at the shaft of the old motor it appears the top bearing was bad from straight from factory. The shaft was discolored in the area were it rests on the race so I'm guessing the high temps melted the glue that holds the motor shaft at the stator causing it to drop out

All better Now !

Did you have to pay for it? It should have been replaced for free no?
