Is the IRCHA an addition to or instead of the AMA? Will IRCHA membership give the insurance to fly at AMA fields?

AMA vs IRCHA
I am not 100% sure, but i believe that you have to be a member of the AMA to be a member of IRCHA.

One thing I CAN tell you, if you don't have AMA, you won't fly at an AMA field. Doesn't matter how many years of IRCHA you have under your belt.

Sure you can be a member of IRCHA with out being a member of AMA.

But it does not have the insurance benifit and that will not allow you to fly at any sanctioned AMA fields or events.

Personal supporter of both the AMA and IRCHA.

I’m with Hitch-Hiker you don’t need to be a member on AMA to join IRCHA. There are people all over the world that are members of IRCHA that don’t have AMA. If you need more info on IRCHA go to http://www.IRCHA.org

IRCHA
Well, I will offer my 2 cents.

AMA is a must if you are going to fly at any sanctioned field.

IRCHA - As stated above from Hitch-Hiker you need not be a member of any other organization to be a member. We are just a SIG for AMA and are her to help promote the R/C Heli community for recreational and competition flying. We also put on the Heli-Jamboree in Aug at the AMA site. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me any time.
